one of my main complaints about the folding stock adapter is the location of the QD swivel. it's on the bottom of the adapter right next to your hand. it gets in the way.

A reproduction of the Tsar's sons (Alexei Nikolaevich) 3/4 scale M1891 Mosin Nagant, but instead of being chambered in 3.71x27R, I'd have it chambered in .22 Hornet.
Would make a great varmint gun, and something to give the future little /k/ommando.

I don't care how tactically useless scout rifles are. This has been by far one of my favorite guns to shoot and I want one really badly.

>>33598602
Why hasn't anybody actually put a real gun on a steadicam mount yet? Those rigs exist, they're used for cameras. This could be done.
>>33596189
>>33598354
There's one on GunBroker for $1500 and a few more that are more expensive. Looks like people are trying to convert them to G36c.
>>33598739
Because until there's a gun with properly integrated smart optics that's linked to a HUD, it would be totally useless.
Additionally, it's best suited to something like a GPMG which is best used from cover, while the rig is only usable from a standing position which exposes the operator to enemy fire.
>>33598879
Put an MG-42 on a steadicam mount and rent it out at machine gun shoots.

>>33598739
IIRC, civilians can't have fire control systems. Same reason you don't see hobby dudes attaching guns to RC cars or whatever.
>>33599230
Just have it shoot with the standard trigger.
>>33595887
What is this buffer/stock called? And does it work with standard gas system, or is it piston only?
>>33598912
Sure, that's one option. Machine guns are incredibly expensive to acquire, and maintaining something like an MG-42 that doesn't have easily available parts will likely require custom fab of replacement parts, adding even more to the expense. Not to mention once the serialized part wears out you're done. Now the expense of the ammunition, and steadicam rigs aren't exactly cheap themselves, the cost of even renting it becomes prohibitive to most people.
tl;dr not commercially viable.
>>33599406
It's called a "PDW stock". Two or three different companies make versions of them. They work with standard gas systems, but I believe they require a special bolt carrier or an extra part that attached to the bolt carrier.

"...The MA5C Assault rifle and the MA5B Assault rifle uses M118 7.62x51mm Armor Piercing, Full Metal Jacket Rounds. These rounds are designed to pierce body armor so the rounds are reasonably large, and are surrounded by a molded jacket of either steel or titanium, which enhances its armor-piercing capabilities. The round might also have a carbide or similar hardened tip, and might also be coated in copper or another metal over the steel, titanium, etc. shell. Actual energy from this round is 2472ft·lb force. This is quite high for a rifle cartridge, and the round has been historically noted for its power and range..."
"...the MA5C appears to be able to absorb it so the weapon remains steady even during cyclic fire. Armor-piercing rounds have the obvious advantage of being able to deal with protected targets, but instead of causing larger wound channels by tumbling like lower-caliber ball or non-jacketed munitions, AP rounds have a tendency to over-penetrate the body, causing less overall trauma."
