I don't know where else to go. Nowhere else on the internet has a solution. Maybe you can help me, /k/. How do you remove the front barrel band from a Yugoslavian M24/47 Mauser? I've tried absolutely every single solution that I could possibly find. I've used boiling water. I've used a heat gun. I've used a screwdriver. I've used a mallet. I've covered the thing in Remoil. There's just no budging this thing, and when I say no budging, I mean NO BUDGING IT. What do I do, /k/? Before anyone asks, yes, I am depressing down the spring all the way.

>I've used a heat gun.
Ever think about heating one part then cooling the other part with a spray can of something that shoots something cold?
It also works very well on electrical connections.

Not really worth the extra bucks, desu

>find 7.92x57 round
>seat cartridge rim on spring against barrel band
>push down and against barrel band

This. I fixed my nugget like this, using a torch and a computer duster.

Mineral spirits and about 24 hours

use a c clapm and clamp the retaining spring down. get the band so hot you can barely touch it. place a punch against the bottom edge of the band. smash it with a large hammer

I had the exact same problem with my 24/47. Here's what I did:
>drip in oil/cleaner slowly
>wait a while
>press in band button
>bash band off with a cloth covered punch and a mallet
The reason they can be so ludicrously tight is because a lot of them were just thrown together with random parts that were never filed or adjusted to fit properly. Also just to warn you, you'll likely need to bash it back on.
Submerge it in oil for an extended period of time

i doubt its cosmoline, its probably rusted under it and fused together with the other metal. if you had cosmoline it wouldnt be so stuck. hot water is all you need for cosmoline. use a hammer and punch and hit it off, little by little on every side and angle. throw some oil under it
