It's definitely NOT an actual G3 (such as an HK91) because those cost upwards of 4k.

If its an actual HK they go for about 3.5-4k where i live. Mags are not hard to come byyou just have to look for them. Surplus aluminum mags go for about $3 a piece (I have 40)

The C39 is a mediocre AK meant for range fun. If its a PTR, the trade is definitely to your favor but try to see if theres anything wrong with the rifle he's trying to trade while being subtle. If its a century C308, then the trade value is roughly even.

The C39 is really not good and you would't be losing out, if the G3 is a PTR you'd be doing a hell of an upgrade.

G3 magazines might not be left and right like AK or AR mags, but they're easily available and in bulk, German surplus aluminum mags are very cheap and plentiful so you can with ease just go order 10 of them for a low price.
