What do you think of Delta Elites?
>>33573741
>cracked frames
Pure meme tier.
>>33573741
Wass yo name
Wasss yooooooo naaaaamme
My name is old dirty bastard and I'm an alcoholic auuuuuuuuugh
>>33573754
>only on one frame rail
>literally affects nothing
>repeating gun memes from the 80's
>>>/trash/
>>33573741
Got a chance to fondle one about a year ago.... there are lots of 10mm 1911 options that are better than this desu. Pic related
>>33573741
The older model is the most aesthetic 1911 ever made.
Unfortunately if the factory cuts too much into the barrel ramp the case support can be compromised
>mfw Colt will never admit to this
>mfw they will never make it with a ramped barrel to avoid it altogether
>mfw the new Delta looks likes like cheap Philippino garbage
wish i had one
>>33573767
But the Delta Elite has a cooler logo
>>33573805
It also doesn't have angled slide serrations and novak style ski ramp rear sight, Dan Wessons are fucking hideous.
>>33573805
Agreed. The roll mark reminds me of stranger things too
>>33573816
Also whoever chooses to use a fucking script typeface on a gun should hang themselves.
>>33573741
Series 80 is for cucks.
>>33573816
>>33573829
lol colt fanboys
Too expensive where I live.
And since 10mm is great for hunting, I rather take something that can get dirty and is still reliable, like a G20.
And if I wanted a pricey 10mm, I´d go for a DW Bruin.
>>33574495
>Colt Gold Cup becomes the standard for an accurate handgun
>It has slanted slide serrations to distinguish it from the base model
>everyone copies it because they want their product associated with a match grade gun
If ain't a Colt it's just a copy, son.
>>33573741
They're shit.
Get a Nitro 10
>>33574909
KEK.
These faggots that parrot their dead father's shit opinions based on things that haven't been true since the 1970s/80s
>>33574909
>company that's shot themselves in the foot for the past 40+ years
>desperately tries to hang on with AR15s, Single-Actions and 1911s, things which the rest of the industry either does as good but cheaper, or wat better at their pricepoint
Colt is a dead meme, a Wilson Combat, Dan Wesson or Ed Brown 1911 will shit all over any current Colt 1911 offering, and offer significantly more options, all they have is branding to appeal to old fudd fucks and nostalgiafags.
let's stop pretending guys, the only good old school 10mm is the s&w 1006. the only one strong enough to handle the 10mm
worst 10mm on the market
>>33573766
>literally affects nothing
I think a cracked frame effects everything.
I don't think the new delyas have this problem. But you're an idiot for thinking its no big deal.
>>33575157
>Wilson Combat, Dan Wesson or Ed Brown 1911
Ya don't say. At least Dan Wesson is a custom shop so that makes your retarded as statement a little less retarded
>>33575177
There's nothing special about the 3rd Gen 10mm. They aren't "built like a tank" the way everyone claims. They're meaty, but there's nothing there that would indicate it was in any way strengthened for 10mm
>>33575485
Keep overpaying for inferior products, Colt loves your loyalty!
>>33575307
It doesnt. The new deltas don't have the issue, nor did any after the issue was found or any colt after that because they MILLED OFF THE AREA THAT WAS PRONE TO CRACKING. It was so unimportant that they removed it entirely.
Other than that there were issues with people not staying on top or spring and buffer changes but there are a shitload of deltas out there that survived competition and decades of us
That being said, Colt could have done much better
>>33575511
Ah so you are indeed retarded and still comparing small custom houses to a full production company as if the quality of the customs wouldn't automatically be better. Well good luck with your lazy ass bait casting
>>33575307
> Don't have this issue
LMAO.
They just machined out the portion that would crack
>>33573741
There's only one true 10mm 1911
>>33575518
The problem isn't a piece of frame.
It's the fact that they have unsupported barrels
>>33573741
Planned on getting one for a while, but I bought a nice Springfield instead and saved about $250.
>>33576053
> nice
HAHAHAHA, nice rebranded Taurus
>>33573741
It would be cool to just get a normal 1911 with the triforce, desu.
First ones had frame cracking issues.
Subsequent ones have fixed the problem. I don't like the newest ones, they don't really look like Delta Elite's to me.
I still don't have a 1911 or a 10mm, so I think I'll grab one slightly older one in the future to kill two birds with one stone.
Anybody know a good serial range to look for?
>>33575157
not him but >liking CZ Wesson
at least put Les Baer at the lower level of "top 1911 makers"
>>33576560
> fixed the problem
So colt makes them with fully supported barrels now?
>>33576314
It's not imbel marked, so at least she's made mostly here in the US. I've handled Taurus 1911s as well and I can say the fit and finish on Springfields across the board is a lot better.
>>33573741
Case rupturing with anything hotter than a standard .40 s&w, atleast from my experience.
Pretty gun either way, but it's better for buying than actual shooting.
>>33576716
KEK.
I can't imagine being such a megacuck.
I bet in 2093 after the major auto makers have fallen, there's going to be faggots like you buying electric single person cars made in China that are labeled "Chevy Camaro"
>>33575701
Actually that's a massively overblown issue, same for the G20. Going to ramped frame and fully supported chamber would have been an easy fix, but actual cases of people having problems with cases blowing are fuck all.
And before we get into the "x company has ammo marked DON'T USE IN DE" that same company offers the same bullet loaded about 50fps slower than the "unsafe" load.
Unless a person is being retarded and going for absolute max loads the worst they may experience is case bulge
>>33576560
Doesn't matter. Buy whatever looks best to you. The frame cut is easy to identify and the frame cracking was on pre-production models anyway. I like the OG carbon steel blued models but the mid 2000s are easier to find, Gold Cup deltas are Hella expensive and don't have the same look either
>>33576671
No the problem is the price for a BASIC 1911 that happens to be in 10mm. You wanna bitch about the way the gun is set up worry about the 80 series, lack of a flat bottom firing pin stop or the dated recoil assembly
>>33576777
Sooo post pics
>>33573759
Fuck me. I laughed at that song so hard back in the 90s. Best album cover also. Photoshop level 9000
>>33576964
K
>>33577040
So where's your delta?
>>33573741
Mediocre gun that gets hyped by people who don't even own them because delta worshipper fags are the biggest retards.
Also kind what >>33576777 said which makes 10mm irreverent since I might as well be shooting 40 short and weak.
Buy a glock 40 instead, shits cash.
>>33577483
>>33577476
Kind of ammo you using champ? How's the rest of the frame look?
>>33573828
netflix pls quit shilling your programming on here
>>33577534
According to the Internet of 2012 where those pics came from, Bitterroot Valley 10mm Auto 180gr FMJ

>>33577534
buffalo bore 180 is finicky as fug on deltas. never had a problem personally with my 29
What's wrong with a javelina?
>>33573741
I wish I could get the aesthetics of the Delta Elite but in. 45
>>33580621
You know they made a .45 Delta. And several guns that look like it.
>>33573741
aesthetic as fuck but I personally wouldn't use one.
>>33579844
AMT is/was like a russian roulette in terms of quality
>>33579844
Rare, janky rear sights, and frame is the same composition of steel as the slide (something that AMT actually did a lot), this can cause performance and wear issues at higher roundcounts.
I'm thinking you could swap out the frame and sights though and you'd have a nice longslide.
>>33580822
Kind of depended on the product, a few either was, or became decent.
Supposedly, their all steel 10/22 and Mk.I clones were pretty good, or had good potential, but Bill Ruger sued them out of that shit.
I think it was their short-recoil Magnum autos which eventually killed Arcadia Machine & Tool, the designers and engineers were not satisfied with the design and manufacture, it was costing them a lot of money, they weren't earning enough money on sales, and the designs had problems, it wasn't long before a lot of key people walked, and the company would eventually fold.
In general, if you have an AMT pistol, and if it's misbehaving, there's ways to fix them.
>>33580777
Would people look down on me for having a wannabe gun?
>>33582260
Yes
>>33582260
Unless your trying to pass off a generic 80 or 1991 series as a Delta who is gonna give a shit. Just get a Delta Elite .45 or any other basic colt and slap a rowel and rat tail in it
Most aesthetic gun ever created imo. I will buy one some day, even if I only fondle it.
