Why hasn't someone made a PDW like pic related? Feeding from two mags doubles a guns standard capacity while keeping it compact. It'd have some sort of mechanism to either alternate feeding or feed from one at a time. It could use the same mags for top and bottom, just slide the top mag into the feed mechanism shown.
>it's expensive
So is getting people killed because they run out of ammo.
>It wouldn't be reliable
It could be.
Also general ideas thread I guess

Usually because their handlers stop them before they start drawing retarded shit on the whiteboard.

holy shit muh sides

his argument is that OP is a retard

It is a neat idea. But bigger magazines are far easier in the long run. Especially considering that the only gun with that style magazine(other than that shotgun thing) is a 50 round magazine, more than enough ammo for a PDW, plus most PDW designs are favoring designs that have more intermediate cartridges. The P90 really does what your design does but better.
>>33570355
>>33570385
Yeah, but the P90 is big for a PDW. This would be much closer in size to an MP7 or TMP, with the same capacity, and quicker reloads.
>>33570300
So the idea is you keep the trigger bar back when not shooting, and you push it forward and slam it back to strike the flint and fire.
>>33570437
I took the time to take you seriously and this blatant autism is what you have in return? Jesus fuck. A PDW does not describe a certain type of gun. It just needs to be compact. You describe a SMG in a PDW role. Fucking retarded.
>>33570507
I think the only autist here is the one having a sperg out anon.
>a PDW does not describe a certain type of gun
>you describe a SMG in a PDW role
Are you having a stroke? Or are you really disabled?
>>33570300
If we're making a gun that feeds from two magazines at once, then I want this.
>>33570507
Using terms incorrectly isn't a sign of autism. Freaking out because other people are using terms incorrectly is a sign of autism.
>>33570300
The problem is that the P90 style feeding thing is big, needs big dummy cartridges in the mag, and looks like it'd only work well with its own meme round. Fix those problems, make it take cheap glock mags, and you've got something promising.
>>33570300
What's the point when you can just design a larger magazine? It's not like you have two chambers that each need to be filled simultaneously.
>>33570300
What if instead of having a separate magazine and barrel, you have a barrel filled with bullets
Except that the tips of each bullet contains a tiny hammer to strike the primer of the bullet in front of it
Sure the first few rounds are going to have no barrel to work with, but as you shoot it, it gets more accurate
>>33571192
Because a larger magazine would stick further out of the gun, making it more difficult to conceal.
>>33570300
1. It would be systematically LESS reliable regardless of design, because you are creating a more complicated feed mechanism, with more things that can go wrong.
2. Real life isn't call of duty. More bullets in your gun isn't a set in stone advantage, it makes your gun heavier and you have two different kinds of mags to carry and reload now. Most non-support weapons don't gain any advantage by having more than 30 rounds to begin with.
Your design hasn't been made it overcomplicates the firearm and supply chain, with very little added benefit if any.
>>33570320
hey man they can't help it
>>33571308
>conceal
>PDW
>>33570819
Reload times on those were shit
Mfw I'll never get around to building a MP7 style Sbr/carbine in .22 tcm or .30 carbine
>>33571362
>you have two different kinds of mags
>too stupid to even read the post before trying to "destroy" it
>>33571223
>what is Metal Storm
>>33570468
You mean like a pinfire cartridge?
>>33570300
I can see the positives of your design idea, but this is a rather unrefined illustration. I think use of the same mag design for both top and bottom feed of your gun using existing mag designs is highly problematic because of the different feed angles.
To say that this design is compact is iffy. It will fit in a smaller box than a pistol with extended mag, but its likely to be wider and have more displacement compared to its ammo capacity.
