>need CCW
>MUST fit in pocket of tailored dress pants & smart shorts with minimal printing

Is the LCP my best choice? Alternatives?
>>
pls help
>>
>>33557946
I just got to fuck with a couple of pocket 1911s. Kimber if you care more about shiny. Mustang if you like aesthetic. Sig if you like aesthetics and ergonomics.
>>
>>33558011
I eyed a few up but they are much heavier than I need.

It's not going to be in jeans, it's going to be in thin, tailored suit pants and I'll be moving.

Lightweight is a key priority. Should have put it in OP.
>>
>>33558067
Gotcha, no problem. Then yeah, the LCP or LCP II will cure all that ails yee. You can probably score a deal on Gunbroker and save some money or pick one up at a store. AS for the .380 ammo Hornady HSTs are one of the best for the gun.

I'll admit, that little thing is a work of art, but it's almost 50% heavier for no good reason.

This buy is a tool rather than a toy.
>>
>>33558106
Checked out the LCPII, honesty not a fan of the new design (much sharper lines, less smooth) and it's 10% heavier.

Thanks for the tip on ammo, apreaciate it!
>>
>>33558121
It's certainly is heavier than it's composite body counterparts from Colt or Kimber, but for some odd reason it fits better to me at least.
>>
>>33557946

LCP 2 is better

but can you deal with the recoil ? try renting any small 380 that weighs about 10z = lots of kick

look at glock 42 it weighs 15z much better
>>
>>33558011
Mustang fires on safe from half cock.
Mustang has no drop safety.
Buy the sig or kimber.
>>
>>33558163
Oh no doubt it would be nicer to handle and shoot.

>>33558203
>2 is better
What makes the 2 that much better?

I'm really not a fan of it's new sharp lines, if it's ever out of its holster it'll print much worse than the smoother flatter LCP. Plus it's gotten 10% heavier.

>recoil
Yeah I know it's gonna be a snappy little thing. If it ever gets used it'll be inside or in very small places outside.

I'll check the Glock out, not a fan of that 50% increase in weight tho, and isn't it substantially larger?
>>
>>33558317
Really? No facetiousness intended. I haven't had an issue with my Pocketlite. Yet apparently. Going to look into that. Thanks anon.

nope
>>
>>33557946
I carry a Makarov in my pocket, personally.
>>
>>33558409
While that's stylish as fuck, that's far too heavy for me.
>>
>>33558471
Honestly, if you're concerned about weight (and aren't using a sturdy belt), the Ruger LCP is probably your best choice.

You might also consider a snubnosed revolver.

KYgunco has 238's on sale for $480 right now, is there a reason not to get one other then me already having a Shield for carry?

I fucked with a friends and it felt awesome.

the fuck are smart shorts
>>
>>33558509
Revolvers aren't an option.

What would you suggest with weight in mind then??

>>33558611

Longer, wider, taller, much heavier.

Than the LCP, ya know, the whole point of this thread...
>>
>>33558611
>is there a reason not to get one other then me already having a Shield for carry?

It's a good CCW piece. I carry it during the summer. Easier to shoot accurately than an LCP. Probably not so good for OP's flimsy slacks but you're not OP. I bought one for $515 last december.

If you've got the funds go for it brohiem. They're fun as shit and since it is a tad heavier it makes shooting .380 a bit more fun. Plus it's a Sig. You get a sticker.
>>
>>33558942
That's what I thought, I just wanted to make sure. I'm not a fan of the LCP though, so I don't mind the 238 being bigger.

>>33558981
>>33559033
Cool, guess I'm getting a 238.

>>
MUST fit in small shorts? You want an FN FAL, m80.
>>
>>33558319
>What makes the 2 that much better?

get off your lazy ass and do internet search for lcp 2 review

#1 is a usable trigger, lcp had a 1" trigger pull which is ginormous

and get over your faggot obsession about 9.6z to 10.6z of weight

and go to the range and rent a 10z 380 if you have never shot anything that lite in 380 before you think you can just man handle it, you migjht be able if you've got steel hands but if you're 1/2 ass normal it will hurt like hell and you will never practice

otherwise i could care less this thread reads like you're trolling
>>
>>33559137
Surroundings dictate the dress code.

>>33559151
Consealed up my asshole? Even for a raging faggot I don't think it'll fit.

>>33559153
I've shot snappy little holdout guns before.

I'll fingerbang them both to check out the triggers, not too fussed, shot with plenty of duty guns with stupid triggers, they still go bang when you squeeze.

Not sure why asking for feedback and bouncin around ideas is 'trolling'. It's the entire point of online communities.

Kids these days man...
>>
>>33557946
Maybe you should just, you know, not carry.

It's obvious your needs are too specific.
>>
>>33559345
If I had to dress in tiger print swimming trunks, is strap a derringer to my taint.

Any gun is better than no gun.
>>
>>33559275
>Not sure why asking for feedback and bouncin around ideas is 'trolling'

because it reads like your spewing crapola and have not even done an internet search to read ANYTHING ABOUT LCP LCP2 OR ANY OTHER SMALL POCKET PISTOL

do internet search for - pocket pistol and start reading

instead of relying on a few posts in this 4m to make this serious decision

right ?

Keltec p32 son. Love mine
>>
>>33559680
That's exactly the kind of ergonomics I'm after.

Haven't looked much into their reliability, how many rounds you got thru it? Any issues? How's it take abuse?
>>
Vote for Bodyguard .380 here, I love the safety/heavy trigger pull since any situation you're going to be using it is probably gonna be point blank. Most holsters you can turn the safety off while it's still in your pocket.

If you do have to push the range a bit, the trigger is super easy to stage for a bit more precision.
>>
>>33559753
Haven't handled those at all desu, I'll check them out, cheers.

You should finger fuck a Beretta Pico. I haven't gotten the chance myself but I've heard good things from people who've actually used it. They say the shape helps it carry very well.
>>
>>33559779

I really like the "Feel" of the bodyguard, it is very... dense I guess. Looks like a full size gun that's been scaled down, I don't really like the dimensions of the OG LCP they just kinda look funny to me.

Also, with the BG there is a $50 rebate so if you go with it make sure to get it!

This is the only correct answer. Trust me, OP. I went through the same exact shit & prob bought ever mouse gun there was, from 22 through 380 (even old shit like a Vest Pocket). The ONLY choice for super thin, super light (its god damn 7 ounces for Christ sake) & a round that will actually kill someone, its the P32. I load mine with hot Euros with either Geco or Fiocchi for max penetration.

Kel-tec isn't the prettiest or most trustworthy maker, but they're good enough & will fix your shit if it breaks. If you have a good one, keep it forever, pocket it & go about your day.
>>
>>33560045
Awesome, thanks man.

>>33559909
I'll try it but that grip looks way too small.
>>
>>33558157
You're a moron if you buy an LCP over the LCP II. The trigger alone is worth it.
>>
>>33560152
LCP was $200 LCP2 is $300. You aren't making 50 yard shots. Buy the lcp I have one it works.
>>
>>33559753
>>33559964

Had the Bodyguard. Mag release is hot garbage & would drop mags if you looked at it funny. The release is super spongy & only takes a bit of compression to drop the mag, so either your trigger finger will hit it or vibration from a round.

Sent it in, they replaced it, still did it. I wouldn't trust it for anything. Just my opinion. Pic related (both mine).

And no one's said the TCP. Best budget 380 out there, it's thin & light. You want smaller you're gonna have to move down to the P32.
>>
Those NAA revolvers are tiny, but I'd go with the p32
>>
I killed a carjacker with an LC9 (still waiting to be cleared by the DA so I can't go into details to much)

Get the LCP custom if you don't want the II. I don't blame you, I'd rather the custom too. Also make sure you use a pocket holster if you are going to pocket carry
>>
>>33560614
same guy just saying the LC9 has my vote and so does the LCP if its anything like its big brother
>>
Yep, OP. LCP if you want the cheap but I highly recommend just getting the LCP II. I made Gander price match Academy when they had it on sale -- and Gander took another 10% off. Got it for a hot $200.

Fantastic firearm, I use mine for summer carry/when going to the gym. It's so light/small, I can throw it in my gym shorts pocket and you can't tell anything is there.
>>
>>33560625

Custom and LCP II's are great -- but you literally can't find the Customs anywhere. I regret not buying one back when I saw one for $150
>>
Guys im in a very similar situation to OP, but i instead want a small, but heavy peice. I love the ruger lc9s size and trigger (its like 4lbs!), but it still recoils too much for me. A heavy, good trigger, and similar sized pistol to the lc9s?

No, no it wont. You aren't walking around on lycra are you?
>>
>>33558611
I love my p238. The chunkier grips fit my hand really well, I just slap the sumbitch in a Galco and roll out. It's heavy enough it really tames the 380's recoil, even with spicier loads, and the sights are excellent. SAO is a drawback for some for a CC piece, but as a tiny little gun, it's a lot of fun.
>>
>>33559585

lol

ok then :)
