It's Tapco time

>perfect
I love my 59/66, but the standard SKS design is not perfect. The most obvious issue is the firing pin, which can get gunked up and cause slam fires... but requires a lot of force to get out so you can clean it to keep the from happening. Also, trigger group is an asshole to get to.
One could also argue that the non-detachable magazine is an issue as well, but I don't really feel that way.

Honestly, it's the perfecto gun for Commiefornia
1. No removable mag
2. 10 round capacity
3. No adjustable stock
4. No muzzle accessory
5. No pistol grip
Straight up win over the AR-15 in less-than-free America

You don't have to completely disassemble the gun. You can just spray CLP into the bolt and jiggle the pin a bit.
"Muh firing pin" is an overblown meme. The gun has to be ridiculously, retardedly dirty for an SKS to slamfire.
For semi-auto fire, the SKS-45 is a better design than the AK-47.
I wonder what it would look like today if development had continued like on the AK platform.
>>33557128
You'd think some clever manufacturer would make a modern-day SKS like certain American companies have done with the AK.
>>33557162
With how many surplus SKS's there are, there has never been a need. They don't run into the problem of not being able to import select-fire rifles like with AK's.
>>33557195
With the recent price increase due to limited supply and high demand, I think it would be a viable option. Who knows? Imagine if they made the platform in 5.56
>>33557045
>platform
you have no idea how much i hate when people use this word to refer to a gun
>>33557243
How do you refer to the model of firearm and its variants?
>>33557226
Well, they're still selling for like $800 tops. It takes a shit ton of time, money, and effort to replicate something like that and have it work properly. It doesn't help that nobody has made them in decades and all of the tooling from those that did are long gone (except maybe China's).
>>33557258
...by name.

>etc.
Platform is used by tacticool fags and shtf larpers
>>33557113
Can confirm, I put 750 rounds of shitty Wolf through my SKS over the course of like, 3 weeks without cleaning it.
Then I went to the range again whereby it slam fired a little three round burst and then never again through the next 300 rounds I put through it.

Reposting this here as it seems a better place to ask.
Where can I find a wooden stock as close to the original as possible that can take the detachable aftermarket maggies?
I was going to a local dealer to ask about details in getting a k31 shipped but then I saw this sks there in flawless condition for a fantastic price so I got that instead. Only thing is it didn't have the original mag but the tapco mag is kinda growing on me.

I actually saw one with all the little metal bits and bolts on eBay so idk check there. Also GunBroker
>>33557226
Right before they fucked up and tried to sell RPG's to gangbangers Norinco showed off a .223 SKS at a few gunshows. One or two made it into the country before shit went south.
