What will a cruise missile attack on Syria look like? There are rumors spreading about a massed cruise missile attack being undertaken tonight.

What would it look like and how would the S300 hold up against it?

USS Porter and USS Ross can each carry 90 Tomahawk long-range, all-weather, subsonic cruise missiles. They're now on alert over Syria.

The answer is in your own post OP

>how would the S300 hold up against it?

That depends on where the missiles are heading. If it looks like they're heading for Damascus, the Russian bases, or any secured location well within SAA controlled territory, Russia might fire on them.

If they let the Russian MoD know that the missiles are heading for Raqqa or something IS held, then they'll just hit them with every radar they have just to get profile imagery on the cruise missiles.

>>
>>33556686
Not a lot. They simply don't have sufficient missiles in theatre to make a big difference. Further, >>33556782
>>
Targets would be SAAF airfields and ordnance depots where any chemical weapons could be stored. At most the Russians would have S-300s stationed near the airfields but it would not be wise to hit the AA in case it's manned by Russian soldiers. A similar risk applies to hitting any barracks.
It wouldn't be an attempt to toppled/decapitate the Syrian Government like it was in Iraq or Libya, just to remove their ability to deploy attack aircraft.

It's dangerous though. I think the Presidents of the US, Russia, and Syria need to try to talk at first and establish what happened and ensure it doesn't happen again.
Directly targeting Syrians makes eventual peace that much harder. If talks fall through then launch cruise missiles at what's described above (And possibly expand target list depending on the situation)

"The movement of the campaign begins when the King of the South moves against the Beast-False Prophet coalition, which takes place 'at the time of the end.'"[21]
The King of the South gets in battle with the North King and the Northern Confederacy (Daniel 11:40). Jerusalem is destroyed as a result of this attack,[22] and, in turn, the armies of the Northern Confederacy are destroyed.[23]
"The full armies of the Beast move into Israel (11:41) and shall conquer all that territory (11:41-42). Edom, Moab, and Ammon alone escape. . . ."

Look, as someone who voted against Trump and worries about his tendency to think of solutions militarily, I don't think we're any closer to war than we were yesterday. Trump is mercurial and wishy-washy. The only thing we could have pushing us toward war is the fact that Steve "Gas the (((Globalists)))" Bannon got demoted to bitch boy.

This is all going to boil down to whether or not he ate a bad burrito and if someone calls him a cuck on FOX News tonight.

Unless they have special storage sites for any chem stuff, they would be stored alongside conventional bombs.
Which would be on airfield grounds so if you're going for planes on the ground you may as well go for their weapons storage.

>>33557139
I don't think he will attack anything right now either. Just start forming plans to have ready if needed.
The best course of action at the moment is to monitor and start setting the basis for talks with Putin and Assad.
Making threats, empty promises, or resorting to military action just disrupts that process. Stay quiet until you're at a negotiating table.

0. In 2003, we fired over 800 Tomahawks into Iraq and only 2-6 of them were shot down by Iraqi defenses (mostly by flak in and around Baghdad).

But it doesn't matter since Assad's current stance is one of open skies, since he has no reason to antagonize any entities currently using his airspace, and resistance would be utterly futile anyways (as they learned the hard way in '82).

These missile strikes send Assad a warning to pull on his commanders' leashes and tell them that is not okay. Or if he did order the use of chem weapons it shows Assad he can't get away with that shit. Even Putin said Russia doesn't "unconditionally support them" which is code for 'We don't know why the fuck he did that'.
