He never blocked a path... the corpses he left behind did
No, you're blocking his path. Step aside and let greatness move along.

I think Simo is probably the greatest example one could provide that shows that manlets can still do quite well in the military.

Modern warfare is pretty much all about using your head (which is also the reason why mussies suck at war). The only physical thing you are going to do is carry your kit around and some jobs have less of it than others or pretty much none at all.

Last words said by man killed by nugget.

This is also something I've thought about.
Manlet are probably better suited for this type of warfare.
I've been paintballing a few times and I get shot in the head like 99% of the time
Being 6ft 5in tall makes me a giant target.

Good luck hitting me with that shit accuracy, lolol

I live in a country with conscription and from what I have heard, big tall guys tend to get more often assigned to jobs like artillery or mortars where they will have easier time moving those heavy weapons and carrying ammunition. I am not sure if it's true or not, but it would make sense. I guess the same might be true with other crew served infantry weapons such as HMGs and ATGMs.

You know having a good rifle is only half the equation, right...
7.62x54R is not an accurate cartridge...
>>33549841
Wrong. It's not the ammo design in itself, it's the grade it's made in. Finns shot match grade ammo even out of their maxims.

You can still buy the exact same design bullet they used.

While 200-grain D166 FMJBT bullet design proved so good that Finnish military still used it with M/85 sniper rifles, to be exact Simo probably did not use it.
In fact his early m/28-30 rifle most likely would not have been even able to chamber that round due to not having D chamber modification needed to facilitate D166 bullet. D-modification only came a thing in Civil Guard rifles such as m/28-30 during and after World War 2 and with Simo we are talking about 1939 - 1940 time frame.
What Simo must have used was ammunition with slightly earlier bullet designs. Most likely option of these being 185-grain D46 or D47 FMJBT - equally high quality Finnish bullet design that was/is basically optimal for m/28-30 rifle and which at that time was available for various exact bore diameters for best possible accuracy (it came in ammo boxes with exact bullet diameter marked in the box). Although it is also possible that he may used one of the ever earlier Sako FMJBT bullet designs, which Civil Guard had been using with its rifles before D46 and D47.
Lapua also still makes D46:

Anyway - the main point is that Simo had match grade ammunition.
Food for thought: How many of claims about Nuggets were inaccurate are based into testing the rifles with only old low-quality military surplus ammo, which had "best by date" decades ago?
