What do warrant officers do /k/? I like obscure things tell me about warrant officers. I told an army recruiter once that i would like to become a warrant officer and he asked me why and said because it sounds cool and i liked the obscure aspect of it and he laughed but more in a "laugh AT you" kinda way.
>telling a recruiter you want to do something without knowing what it is
Are you retarded?

Be pilots sometimes.
>Obscure
Eheheheh.
>>33544617
I dunno I'm pretty childish I guess but I do pretty well on standardized tests so from a strictly clinical standpoint no I am not retarded.

They confuse enlisted men whether or not we should salute then, because their rank is weird.
In reality from my experience, warrant officers are generally former enlisted. But I was an Infantryman, so I don't really know. You just kind of avoid them.

Ask your recruiter for 1171. You'll thank me later.
No one really knows.
I told my recruiter I wanted to be a helicopter door gunner. He laughed and said I should join up with the first cav, and the best way to do that was to be a cav scout.

Don't be silly anon, everyone knows warrant officers are a myth.
>>33544603
Not exist, except when they do.

Additional. No shit, I saluted a warrant officer once. He saluted me back and said "Thank you". He actually thanked me for saluting him, sometimes I don't think they know they exist

In the CF, WO/PO1 is usually in charge of discipline and higher administrative procedures in divisions such as a platoon.
Honestly all of the US military branches have a pretty fucked up rank system. I'm glad I don't have to deal with like 30 ranks.

>Be AF
>Wtf is a warrant officer?
>Navy? No shit we don't salute them, can't decipher their dumbass rank structure anyway
Apparently the navy warrant officers on our base got pissed off that nobody saluted them, so the whole base got a talking to about it. Of course nobody began saluting them.

We don't need more autists in the military
>>33546803
Yes we do. Too dumb to say no but functioning enough to die.

>saluted me back and said "Thank you"
You should have said 'you too' he's probably still looking back and grimicing
