Here in the Philippines, some handymen use old .50 BMG boxes as toolboxes.

I don't have a great solution. All my chemicals are on a shelf in the gunroom. My brushes/jags just sit in whatever plastic tub i used last. Rods just dangle from hooks.

Feels mad cluttered

I have two of the otis military cleaning kits, but they turn into a hot mess after brushes start wearing out or you unavoidably lose the small adapters or the foam shit loses grip.
And of course none of the threads match anything else in existence.

Tool box would be a nice ideal. You'll still have to carry cleaning rods unless you're a Savage and actually use segmented steel

You are on the right track anon. You need a metal tool box. Gun cleaning chemicals will eventually fuck a plastic box up. Just don't buy new. metal tool boxes are pretty cheap at flea markets and garage sales. My cleaning box is in the background of this pic.

In a similar vein, whats your ideal field cleaning kit? Im not a huge fan of the otis kits, but i think theyre on the right track. My field kit is just a pouch with a bore snake (yes theyre shit but its just for field use, i cant be fucked to carry cleaning rods or a shit load of patches in the field) and general purpose brush, small droper bottle of clp, and a rag.

Somebody popped their lock, didn't they? How long did it take you to put back together? Took me maybe 20 mins to pull apart and get the parts put and an hour of fittling with dental tools trying to get a spring in the right spot...

I have a thick plastic DeWalt one, it can handle a ton of weight and I think it's like $20-25(unsure, I worked at a warehouse and got it at dealer cost which was $12) it's not some small one either
