I plan on carrying a cz 75 sp01. I want to use a vertical shoulder rig with a few mag pouches and a buttoned back strap on the holster. Actually yes and so have several people i know, its a fairly routine occurrence for young people and people of all ages that are darker than white.

Usually they stop you while you're on foot, ask you what you're doing then frisk you "for officer safety" as they're allowed to do under the law.

When you complain and ask them why they either get aggressive or tell you that you:

1.smell of marijuana
2.smell of alcohol
3.matched a description

and let you go after asking you where you came from and where you are headed to unless the frisk turns up something which is usually drugs or a weapon, then they say they stopped you because they could see it printing on you, or could smell the drugs(typically marijuana)

It's actually more safe than strong side carry, my double action only pistol is not going to defy the laws of physics and go off into my junk while sitting and in a hardshell holster.

When re-holstering (generally standing) the muzzle doesn't flag any part of my body, I carry at 12 O'Clock flush and my holster presses my junk down, if I was even concerned I was being swept (which I'm not) I could simply rotate the holster with my support hand to guarantee it was directed away from me. And on top of all that - I'm thumbing the hammer when re-holstering, once again creating a physically sound safety procedure that eliminates all risk.

Meanwhile, strongside carry sweeps your femoral artery on the draw (unless your stance is total shit and you legs are positioned so narrowly they are inside your hip line) - which happens to be the highest risk action of pistol manipulation from the holster.

Additional benefits of AIWB are:

Carry more gun easier
More comfortable sitting
More concealed bending
FASTER

So if you really quantify all the variables, and choose appropriate gear, AIWB is basically the safest, fastest and most gunny style of carry.

There is a reason every self defense focused instructor carries this way - I'm not alone or making this up, /k/ just loves being insular and ignoring reality in their hugbox.

I definately did some research actually, wanted a double action auto that was small, cheap, got good reviews, had no external safeties, didn't have a stupid trigger safety, would fire without a mag inserted, had an internal hammer, and had a slide lock.

Taurus doesn't get good reviews in general, but there was much more positive feedback about this pistol than negative.

Also, I just looked into the takedown pin issue, Taurus changed the design of it so it stays put. Which is nice.

Mine is one of the last ones made before they were discontinued, checked the serial, it was manufactured in 2016.

Basically, the Vanguard 2/VG2 Advanced is your trigger guard holster with an IWB soft loop. The strut is to bring the soft loop up to the belt line (it also allows for tucking the shirt in if you're into that). It's going to be significantly more stable than your current setup because the trigger guard/holster is what's attached to your pants, and not that thin clip on your gun.

I strongly recommend spending the extra on the VG2 Advanced. That has a "claw" which, in addition to making the holster even more stable (bites at your waistband), also rotates the grip of the gun into your stomach. That makes for better concealment.

Either setup will be a significant improvement over what you've got, and it's just as easy (probably even easier) to put on/take off as your current setup.

Small torches don't last pissing time and having to carry around extra batteries defeats the purpose of trying to be minimal; 18650 battery torch or nothing for me.

Knife depends on a lot of things, a 4" folder is nice but it sticks out of pants pockets like a sore thumb and carrying it IWB on a clip is ideal, but I currently don't own a knife with a body clip. Will remedy this soon I guess.

I'll repeat myself, since no one seems to listen; I'm looking for a good way of carrying externally like a pack of some sort. Bonus points for something that can be worn with everything up to and including business casual clothing (shirt and slacks.)
