Combat infantry is fucking crazy, there's no way I'd ever let anyone (female) I know go into it. Especially Australian Infantry, they're feral crazy animals! :)
Hell, I'd even advise most blokes to give it a miss because its just bloody hard, tough, dirty, degrading, often boring and very heavy work. You will be hot, cold, covered in mud, smell like shit, thirsty, back hurts, sleepless and then we're going for another quick 10k run, 'cause we don't think you've tried hard enough.
It is fucking terrible.

That said, non-combat roles I have full confidence in some women to handle that as well as anyone- truck driving, pilots, sigs, medical, admin, supply, technician, hell go be a mechanic if that's your thing. They all need competent people as much as anyone, but women won't cut it in Australian combat infantry because most full grown men can't cut it in there. That's not a challenge, its a fucking fact.
