I have an idea about the draft.

Politically, it puts me in kind of a dilemma. As a /k/ and somewhat of a patriot, I know we need a draft. However, as a libertarian and huge civil/individual liberty nut, I hate the idea of citizens being forced out of the lives and careers they chose to go fight overseas in a war that doesn't effect the country much either way.

This is my solution: An amendment to the Constitution, saying that citizens cannot be drafted in any conflict unless either a) fighting has occurred on American soil, or b) it is certain that the enemy will attack American soil if the conflict is lost elsewhere

I think it's a good balance between freedoms and protecting the nation. Thoughts?
