I suspect she's got a few stories.

I assume, all I know is after WW2 she was given to the Spanish

Ahh youre thinking of the C serial rifles, which are far more common.
Lowe and later DWM made two 10,000 rifle batches of these mausers that made it to south africa before 1899 and were actually used by afrikaaners in the conflict. Those were serialed A1-10000 and B1-10000. They made a further batch of C1-4000 serialed rifles bound for south africa which were intercepted by the british after hostilities had started and sent back to DWM, who sold them to Chile and Spain, theyre usually what you encounter being sold as 'boer war mausers'. Since the Brits made the afrikaaners destory most of their remaining rifles after the end of the second boer war in 1902, essentially the only A and B serialed ZAR and OVS mausers you encounter are veteran bringbacks from 1902. Mines a B serial capture rifle thats been kicking around in canada for 115 some odd years.
Also yes, I have autism.

If I were to send some pics of serial numbers and markings could you tell me more perhaps?
>>33521796
Sure, They're ZAR/OVS mauser serial numbers?

Oh, pictures of the serial numbers on the reciever would be ideal.
If the serial number starts with a C then a picture of the rear sight would also be useful!
Just got this 24/47 from my grandpa a week ago. It's in great condition, and thankfully he didn't sporterize it. I'm debating whether I should put the original sights on it or not. I like the convenience of having a scope, but the original iron sights have a far more aesthetically pleasing look to them.

That's a Portuguese-contract Kar.98k (m/941 in Portuguese service). They were made in 1942 and only about half were delivered to Portugal before the Nazis realized that it was no longer a good time to be shipping perfectly good rifles out of the country.
>>33522031
Oh! I didnt realize that was you! Thats definately not a south african mauser, you've got a sweet Portuguiese Contract K98k!
The nazis issued many of those into active service (including yours). You've got an increadibly cool gun.
>>33522070
>>33522065
Woah! Thats cool, finally I know something of my 98, how do you know all of this?
My Wehraboo collection so far.

And the rifle/bayonet, its chambered in 30-06.
Dont know where to find locking lugs for the bayonet since it came without them
I have a waffenfabrik Mauser, how do I tell if it's anything?
Serial number 380722.
Receiver stamped with
Waffenfabrik Mauser A-G Oberndorf A.N. Mausers Patent.
I'd take a pic but can't upload more than 4mb at a time

I think probably any press stud for a Mauser-90/93-pattern bayonet will work. Perhaps you could scavenge one off a Turk bayonet or something. Nice M1909/47.

Is is a sporting rifle or a military rifle configuration?
Just re-size your pics, or upload them to imgur and post a link.

Think I got it.
Pistol, not a broomhandle
>>33522248
All the German-made M1909 rifles and carbines were delivered with their receivers "in-the-white", that is with no surface treatment other than polishing. Later on many had their receivers blued or phosphated to better protect against corrosion.
>>33522273
>Pistol, not a broomhandle
Oh sorry; I'm not good with the pistols. It's a Model 1914 I think.
>>33522316
Are 1914s anything? Didn't seem like it online, but I don't know shit about them either. Probably not worth anything (not that I'd sell it), unless it belonged to the Kaiser or whomever?
>>33522350
I think they usually go for $300-600.
Really wanted a yugo m48, There was a site that had them for $250 a piece, but they ran out before I decided to order. Is there anywhere else that sells them right now? What is a decent price to get them at anymore?
>>33522645
Gunbroker tends to have a bunch. The going price is generally around $300, give or take $50.
My Swedish tiger.
