Here's what I don't get. It was apparently called the "schnellflugzeug" (fast aircraft), but I don't see why it would be any faster than a regular turbojet. Was it just a codename to conceal the true purpose of the aircraft?

They are stupid fast
>>33510179
Consider the times and the average cruising speed of aircraft at that time

Even for the 1940s though, they already had some early jet fighters which would probably be more deserving of the term, wouldn't there be a considerable loss of efficiency in using a jet turbine to drive a vertical propeller, then vector the downdraft backwards, as compared to just using a jet engine for thrust directly?

From the country that bought you "Operation [amphibious animal]" for an amphibious assault (Operation Seelöwe), "Operation [famous general]" for destruction of military intelligence (Operation Clausewitz) and "Operation [alpine fortress]" for construction of a defensive line in the alps (Operation Alpenfestung).
Comes "Codename [fast aircraft]", surely those crafty Engländer will nicht figure out this one, ja meinen Kameraden?

I don't understand these threads.
If any of these were good ideas, they would already exist. What is this weird roleplaying shit. I just want to talk about guns.
