no. US Army is just incapable of producing a decent dress uniform. the Dress Blues they had before they went to the army service uniform, was decent.

Honor Guard like pictured looks better, because they have less stuff pinned on, and they have belts for the jacket.

If it was up to me. I would make the honor guard uniform standard. then embroidery on the lapels for enlisted rank isntead of sleeve rank, with branch colored patches backing the embroidery. something really fancy looking for the enlisted ranks too. not just gold stiched chevrons and rockets.

Belts are directed wear for them. Ceremonial duties.

If a command wanted to, they could order belts to be worn with the ASU. However it makes no sense to do so while unarmed so people typically will only get to wear them at weddings with their saber.

I know it's a reboot of the past, and it's fuckin dumb. It's just not flattering. It's square and boxy without that belt, which I don't wear because I'm not in an honor guard. I say go back to the pinks and greens. How's that for a reboot?

Also, anyone else think it's kinda strange to use E-1 boots for an honor guard?

Navy uniforms are traditionally double-breasted, but army uniforms used to be that too. It just stopped when uniforms had to be more practical and there was no extra dress uniform

desu I've always though the service uniform was far more aesthetic than the dress blues. Just so classic and classy. Too bad we wear it even less than the blues, literally like twice for some people.
