What's better; 10mm auto or .357 magnum?

Duh.
>>
>>33491477
.357.
Revolvers handle that, .38SP, .380ACP and various 9mm (with adapters).
So versatility wins.
>>
>.357 probably only 5 rounds but max 8 rounds.
>10MM Glock 16 rounds without extended mag and up to 32 rounds with the biggest mag.

Hmm what could possibly be better? Since outside of specialty ammo neither is moving over 2100 FPS so as long as they meet min penetration they are close enough to be interchangable. Neigher will damage anything they don't hit, so the one with more chances to hit must be better.
One is harder and slower to reload and the other is quick and easy. The one with faster reload, less frequently needed is better.

Ok, I guess .357 BTFO.

If you couldn't figure this out on your own maybe you shouldn't own a gun. Just sayin'.
>>
>>33491535
If you're going to include adapters a Glock 20 can shoot something like 15 calibers.
Sorry fudd.

THis is not a bitching point about the cartridge itself.

Case in point, the Desert Eagle and the Dan Coonan 1911, both semi-auto handguns in .357 Mag

>Both, interestingly, created in Minnesota also.
>>
>>33491644
Kinda is tho. No double stack high cap 357.
>>
>>33491535
Yeah what
>>33491584
Said, plus you dont even need to change anything on a g20/g29 to shoot .40. So it's at least AS versatile as a .357 revolver.

10mm wins by a longshot
As previously stated, can handle around 15 calibers, high capacity, easier/quicker to reload.

While we are talking about versatility, the G29 is worth mentioning as it can go from a compact CCW to a full size innawoods/survival handgun. Ive yet to see a .357 revolver do the same.

Ive also seen 10mm ammo that will easily surpass +P .357 Mag ammo

Let's see it then.

Also

>+P .357 Mag ammo

There is no +P rating for .357 Magnum, you imbecile.

Revolvers are actually faster to reload at the high skill level, there's less travel distance to clear a cylinder than a magazine, there's an assist to.
>>
>>33491788
>Said, plus you dont even need to change anything on a g20/g29 to shoot

Shooting a few rounds of .40 out of a 10mm Glock does not cause problems. Shooting a lot of .40 out of a 10mm Glock regularly will require that you replace your barrel (faster throat erosion) and extractor early. This is not the case with a .357 Magnum firing .38 Special, because the .38 Special headspaces off of its rim and not the case head.

Didn't claim that revolvers had higher capacity friendo, just stated a mechanical fact.
>>
>>33492617
Revolver fag is mad, kek

Buffalo Bore 158 grain is basically +P for .357
Underwood, Grizzly, and RBCD ALL have loads that blow the hottest .357 shit out of the water

I thought you needed a Glock 21 to shoot 45 super, 460 Rowland.

>Comparing a auto loading pistol round to a revolver round
How about you compare 10mm magnum to .357 magnum and we have ourselves a fair comparison
>>
>>33491477
>let's compare a traditionally auto-loading round with a traditionally revolver round
>>
>>33493129
Does that fact matter when a revolver needs 3 reloads to match an auto's single reload?
>>
>>33491477

Do the small differences in terminal ballistic performance between the two loads really matter(especially considering the variety of loads for each round commercially available)?

I just know id much rather have a glock 20 than any .357 revolver in a self defense situation
>>
>>33491477
Eight rounds of 357 is plenty for most. Fixed barrel and more manageable recoil impulse are luxuries.

Mag capacity seems like a meme when you can reliably put shots down range without fighting recoil.
>>
The centerfire cartridge is better. .357 is more powerful but stuck in a 6" barrel revolver? I'd rather just take the 1911.

>>

XXbuck is like 8 rounds og 9mm all at once. Multiplied by 7 or 8 round tube mag capacity basically = 60+ rounds of 9mm at your disposal.
AR cant compete with this kind of savage power

Fixed barrel, double/single, all steel, will get the job done. If more is needed carry another revolver or semi(desert E) with again, more mags.

.357 has a very flat trajectory and Superior accuracy compared to 10mm.

A 10mm cz clone would be fucking sweet if it would fit my hands. They all seem fucking huge though. And I have average size 's.
>>
>>33494784
And I own both while you own neither >>33494799
Most .357's hold 6 rounds not eight. And a Glock 20 fully loaded weighs less than a fully loaded .357.

For getting attacked by bears in level IIIA armor?10mm

I bet you a million dollars I would hit you first and more accurately from a hundred yards away... I don't even shoot regularly.

Crisp single action, all steel, factory ammo and everything. Could prolly brain five Glock fags from there too before you hit me.
>>
>>33494823
Wrong doughboy. I own all of them. Also you dun goofed and took the bait.
It was a joke son. Ya missed it. Flew right by ya
>>
>>33492751
Extractor issues? I doubt that. People typically only change a barrel if they change anything to shoot .40, but i doubt theyd even need to change that. And throat erosion? Because the case is shorter? That is no reason throat erosion should increase. Does throat erosion increase from shooting .38 in a .357?
>>
>>33492751
>>33495141
Also since .40 is the same diameter is 10mm, the extractor should work as it should and keep the case against the breech face.
>>
>>33494907
in what situation would you have to use a handgun at any range that mechanical accuracy matters

Guerilla warfare, escaping and evading, heck, even a normal gun fight could turn into a small war like situation where distancing yourself from the front line and engaging a target from 100 yards would benefit you.

I know most people live in the city but if you were Inna woods or Inna natural setting surely the ability to place precise shots would be critical. Therefore a fixed barrel, .357 Maggy, would simply be the better choice.

>The FN 5.7 was developed to arm downed fighter pilots behind enemy lines.
>>
>>33498374
Think about the .357 in the same role as the 5.7 and you will start to understand the true power behind that ability to accurately hunt/engage from greater distances.

Do you have any strong opinions on poly over steel in 10mm? Any worries about part failure? I have no ideological preference but I wonder if 10mm is too much boolit for poly, I know a lot of the glocknade reputation comes from their 10mm.
