You know, I often wonder this myself. People here are always commenting on whether they think a particular gun is really visually appealing or if it's butt-ugly, but unlike aesthetics in photography, films, architecture, etc. guns don't even have any sort of soft-science as to what most people like or dislike.
That being said, I'm a sucker for polymer guns with a single piece of furniture between the grip, handguard, and stock.

I like my guns like I like my women, I guess. Strong, all-natural, fairly big, slightly old fashioned but not afraid to be dirty, will be with me forever and there whenever I'm in need, will outlive me, can take a beating and doesn't afraid of anything.
