I always hear that special operations guys look nothing what you'd expect. They tend to be shorter, meeker, and more quiet in person than hollywood makes them out to be. It makes sense if you think about it, a lot of what they do involves blending into the crowd in a wide variety of locations, so you don't want a 6'4'' meathead jock with an itchy trigger finger, you want a guy that looks like a middle aged business man or tourist or something. Someone who looks like they belong in those areas and won't raise more suspicion than he has too.

In my experience every sof unit is different.

When I first showed up the sf were a bunch of casual looking guys, like dads. The sfc in charge was a socially awkward dude who spoke little, knew his shit, and had that 1000 mile stare.

Their replacement unit was ran by a short, chubby, charismatic, Latin dude with fantastic suave hair. His entire crew was a bunch of pornstars from the 70s. Handle bar mustaches, scrawny, or obscenely roided out. It was pretty awesome.
