Mail the slide to Amerigun USA.

They'll mill a dovetail in the front and replace the rear.

Costs around $250-$300 total starting out, and then you can mail the slide to Trijicon every 12 years to replace the tritium lamps for $45.
>>
>>33488797
Buy a 92 model that has a removable front sight (Brig, Elite, Vertec, 92a3) or pay someone to modify the front sight for you. I've seen people have the front sight drilled though for fiber.

Enjoy either paying $500 for a secondhand one in an ebay bidding war or lurking Berettaforums every day for a year. It's a lot easier to just buy a Brigadier or 92A1 complete and have a spare Beretta.

It's extremely difficult to get aluminum anodizing the same color as an enamel finish on steel and as a colorant in polymer unless it's black.

If FN can't be consistent on their FDE SCARs no way in hell it'll be consistent on a $900 pistol unless the whole thing is painted with the same enamel.

I'm not talking about matching the enamel. I'm just wondering if every M9A3 frame is going to end up a slightly or majorly different color.

And now that I think about it, I've not seen a lot of variance in the anodizing.

Mags come in boxes of 10 so he ordered 500 total by accident. Of the 45 boxes that disappeared i got one for christmas.

-I bought a Beretta Brigadier form a local gunstore.
-Bought a Beretta 92F from Armslist.
-Ordered a barrel from Bar-sto.
-Ordered grips from DSGrips.
-Got springs, SS guide rod, and a trigger conversion unit from Wolff.
-Sent slide off to Customized Creationz for engraving
-Took Bar-sto barrel to local gunsmith to be fitted

Then I slapped it all together, used the extras to make a Frankenberetta, and traded the Frankenberetta to someone for their VP70z.

Total price is in the $2000 range, but if you count the fact that I got the VP70z from the leftovers, you can think of the price as more around $1500.

>>33489420
To my knowledge, there isn't any sort of commercial extended release. There are definitely custom shops that could do it though, and I doubt it was be too expensive.

>>33489439
There is a standardized Samurai Edge that is given to each STARS member, but from there they are able to have any modifications that they want done. i.e Jill's has the regular steel trigger and Chris' has the SS one. And Wesker's and Barry's are drastically different.
>>
>>33489439

The medallion in all of them are different colors
Barry uses a 96 brigadier with a compensator
The rest usually have small differences aesthetics wise

Yeah, it's minor stuff but differences nonetheless.
Jill has the most normal model.
Rebecca has a green stars medallion and extended slide release.
Chris is Rebecca's with a stainless trigger and match barrel.

SilencerCo had threaded 92 barrels on their website a while back for around $160. I bought one and swapped the locking block parts onto the new barrel.

If you thought normal sights were difficult with a suppressor, you'll really hate the low and black 92s sights. I painted mine with nail polish.

+P is fine for the 92. NATO 9mm ball is loaded hotter than most US loadings you're likely to pick up too. You can even run +P+ in your 92 but they say don't run it consistently.

Did you swap the parts into the Brigadier or the 92F? Also apologies for the retarded question but why does the barrel have to be fitted at a local gunsmith's?
>>
>>33498170
No dumb questions.

The parts were swapped onto the 92F.

The barrel had to be fitted because it's a match barrel. Bar-sto leaves extra material where the barrel mates to the slide so it can be precisely machined for tighter tolerances.

Who cares? Outside of shooting matches, shooting steel through a 90-series is perfectly fine. And barrels are cheap enough where you could easily save enough money shooting steel case ammo to buy a brand new barrel long before you shoot out the threads of the old one.

He's saying that he's not a fan of the writing on the right side of the frame. He compared the "US 9mm BERETTA USA" frame rollmark on the M9 to the "read manual before use" mark on the 92FS.

Reading comprehension.

He probably wants the straight cover for aesthetic reasons. Some people like it better. The old 92F, 92FS, Brigadier, and M9s have them.

I know the FS started using plastic or plastic-coated parts at some point. Are any of the F's controls non-steel?
>>

It is ok, but you got hosed on the price.

Mags don't drop free, but if you do retention reloads it is a nice layout. Be aware that the spring in the nice 18/20 round Mec-Gar mags sits flat against the mag tube, so don't bother trying to cut the 92s mag catch notch in those.
Sights are tiny but make sense for the era.
Slick front and rear of the grip sticks to skin nicely but will be tricky with gloves.
Overall, very nice as a retro pistol or the start of a 90 series collection.

I have loved Berettas ever since I was in the military. Unlike other people, my experience with the M9 was overly positive.
Resident Evil has always been my favorite game series, too. So when I got out of the Corps, I specifically sought out a Beretta 92 as my first pistol (other than a .22) for carrying/shooting. I bought a 92FS Compact and fell in love. Eventually I ordered a pair of SE grips for it from DSGrips. But after I got them, I realized that I wanted to make an actual Samurai Edge. A couple years later, and I made it a reality.

At this point in time, I've owned 3 92 variants and have loved them all.

Have a rare photo of my SE while it was still on the Brig frame.

>I just nee to do more shooting. Or buy a 1911.

Regardless of what you shoot whether it's a 226, Glock or 1911, you will have to dryfire anyways.

The 92 was the very first gun I shot and liked, and I'm also a dumb memester who likes buying guns just because they were in vidya/movies or just look nice to me.

It's basically inevitable that I'll be picking up at least 2 in the future. A plain Jane one for every Hollywood 92, a Samurai Edge because I love Resi, and both together to be a John Woo protagonist.

how much did you get the 92F and the brig for anyway?
and from where? like a funstore or online or something?

You guys know which color you get to match the factory black Beretta finish? They say matte black matches most guns but they also have a blued finish that has me confused.
>>
>>33521370
I got the Brig from a local gunstore for $650. Got the 92F on Armslist for $400.

>>33521532
All newer Beretta 92s come with a Bruniton finish. Out of blued and matte black, matte matches more closely.

Nice, thanks for the info brother!

I have a friend whose a machinist and we were thinking of trying to copy it ourselves. But ya the comp is just to go towards my Leon starter kit.
>92fs with comp
>round sunglasses with plastic frame
>wool watch cap thats too small for my head
>13 year old Natalie Portman
kek

I carry and shoot my wilson quite a bit and the comp will just be a bit silly to try and carry around on the wilson.

Your call. It sounds to me like you are missing out on something silly.

Trying to get use to the m9 sight configuration on my 92fs with shit results @ 10yrds. If it doesn't improve in the next few range trips I'm going to just black out the rear sight altogether.

My factory 92fs sights look like the ones in the picture on the right. Came with the white dots painted for three dot set-up, since have blacked them out and trying the M9 set-up.
