Honestly because I'm a huge faggot and never really learned to shoot revolvers properly. And reloading them takes me like half a day. I think revolvers would be a good choice, but I'm not the best teacher and I'm not that interested in getting good with them.
Only wheelgun I've ever carried is my 360PD airweight 357 mag. Auxillery gun for when I was in the Police academy, and that was a while ago. These days I carry two semi autos.

Nothing wrong with the P6- great gun. As long as she is comfortable with the operation of said gun, loading , unloading, working the slide and actually shooting, she should be good to go.
Discuss the local laws with her and what you can and cannot do.
Look for places in the home where it is best to defend from- lanes of fire, etc.
Good hollowpoints for the gun. Spare mags- need at least one spare. Flashlight.
Check the door and window locks- spend a little extra if you have too.
Electronic hearing protection.

If PCC- same rules apply. Some people are more comfortable with them than a pistol. Kel-Tec 2000 would be a good choice.

The problem with revolvers is of course the ~6 round capacity, and the fact that most of them are either .38 special or ,357 magnum. Because of the sheer size, a lot of people dont realize that the .38 is weaker than a 9mm, and even some .380 loads, so assuming that 1 of the 6 shots lands (optimistic odds) , an assailant could shrug that off depending on shot placement. The 9mm should be your first pick for her, but if a full size pistol is uncomfortable/intimidating for her go with the .32 acp.
