I recommend the phone clip style belt holster, they make for the lc9 and lcp
Have one on mine and tucks 100 percent.

Only problem with it is I have to clean the gun a little more often since its open to lint and whatever in your waistband. Bit if a slower draw without practice but that's normal.

I actually got a pat down with my lcp like this once. The guy felt something, but when I lift up my shirt to show him nothing there I got in. Was super lucky, but I don't know many other caries to get away with something like that.

Current EDC is a commander length SR1911 in an alien gear holster. Gun because its surprisingly more accurate and reliable for me than my newer(to me) USP9c so far. Holster because i already had it lying around i have such mixed feelings about CCWing a 1911 long term so i haven't invested in a proper one yet.

Serious question time. How's an AIWB carry in comparison to a 4 o'clock carry for someone that carries in the summer, and is relatively active (I work in construction and IT, albeit mostly indoors, so up and down ladders, arms stretched, lots of walking, etc.)

Depending on gut size and firearm design AIWB can poke you in the gut when bending forward or in extreme cases even limit your forward bending ability.

depending on gun it may be a good idea to off set your belt to one hip to reduce your appendix area bulge.

AIWB is much easier on your lower back, particularly when seated.

AIWB is easier to access in a vehicle or seated position, and is easier to keep track of/defend in case of a physical altercation.

overall i prefer AIWB or strongside carry, but sometimes ill carry around 3:30 if i know im just going to be walking around and not sitting, bending over, or in a crowded place.

Sorry I'm short on good talking words but buy a holster from people who know what they are doing, don't bother with any big dog "one size fits all" garbage. Carry is ultra body type dependent, literally have a consultation with a fabricator, this shit is not generic and you need a fabricator who doesn't just build but knows what a carry person needs.

Seated use in cars is easy so long as no one who's anti carry is in the vehicle with you. just tuck the seat belt under your carry.

When it comes to reholstering given the stakes and your carry id practice tactiley and visually making sure your holster is unobstructed by clothing before reholstering. simply pulling your shirt up and clear of the holster should be sufficient. personally had a couple strange experiences doing draw practice on a cleared firearm where clothing tried to get sucked into the holster... made me concerned about the 1 in a million chance that it could ball up in the just right and hook the trigger.

When it comes to carry depth deeper is usually better as it helps to reduce printing and keep the firearm tight against the body, but it is certainly also a matter of balancing and personal preference. i find higher up firearms can be a little more natural to draw.

Thanks for the suggestion. For anyone who does happen to have a similar body type, I've got an athletic build of 6'2" at 180~ish lbs after eating a chicken bake, though my hips are kind of thicc. Just if anyone has a suggestion of what I should look for in particular that happens to work with them; Currently I'm browsing google to see what others use.

I choose who gets to go in my car, and rule number one is no one that I haven't known for years. All my friends or family that are approved to ride are only because they either keep to themselves at the worst, and are supportive at best. No pussy in existence gets a ride if I don't know them, so carrying in a car is not going to be a problem around others.

I'm not sorry that I take the cleanliness and safety of those in my car to be absolute top priority. The first and last time I let two people in, they tracked mud and it was a bitch to get cleaned.

To everybody appendix carrying:

How do you deal with sitting and moving around? I have a pretty small gun (Shield) and sitting with an appendix holster is extremely uncomfortable because it digs into my thigh.

Walking around with one is fine but doing stuff like climbing onto truck beds is a terrible experience with an appendix holster.

I'm a 6' 150lb average build guy so I'm confused why it isn't working out for me.

Currently using a 5 o'clock holster because it lets me do the most things comfortably. Leaning back on it in a chair feels like it will throw out my back and the holster itself is fuckhueg but other than that it's alright.

I did not. Glock leg is bad. Glock scrotum is worse. Traded it out for a manual safety carry gun instead. Also to be fair the amount of extra time it takes to rack the slide is largely exaggerated. The draw takes a bit longer then some other IWB but the concealment and comfort level cannot begin to be matched. You will not outdraw most but you can carry more confidently and still have access to a fast weapon in a dangerous situation.

I will ask you ponder how many times have you not carried or were forced to carry in such a manner you would print because of a more traditional IWB holster? One thing I've seen done with deep carry holsters is to take one of those little kydex trigger holsters and tie it with a short piece of cord to the inside of the carry holster.

Theoretically on the draw the kydex guard would be attached to the holster and pop off when you draw your gun. Also this would let you carry round chambered without blowing your dick off.

I have no clue how well this works practically but it's something I've seen people do

Even among criminals unless they specifically are out to murder someone there is a reasonable limit to what they will do. Outright shooting people in the face when they are complying is not really all that common. Better to play it safe and draw at a better point in time. The draw speeds are close but not close enough that I'd risk drawing while being drawn upon.

5'11" and 220, I'm not a skinny guy, but I've been using appendix carry for a couple weeks after trying strong side 3:30 / 4:00 and it's much more comfortable. Granted, I have a very small pistol.

I found that just off center like a couple other guys said works well, hike up your pants and keep your belt a bit loose. Pant size makes a big difference, make sure there's enough room.

I just carry G19 OWB basically year round. In the cooler months I have a jacket and in the warmer months a have button down short sleeve shirts that usually have some sort of pattern on them to break up the outline of the gun.

I'm 33 and married with children so I'm no longer concerned with being on the cutting edge of fashion. As long as it's comfortable and not sloppy I'm good.
