Despite being objectively better than keymod, I seem to be having a lot of trouble finding a Gucci ar upper receiver with mlok. All the mlok ar uppers seem to be made by no-names like mega arms and aero precision. The gucci makers all seem to opt for keymod or quadrail. Does anyone know of any that do produce mlok uppers?
I guess you posers have no idea
>>33479763
KAC
>>33481755
2k for an upper? Any other options?
>>33479763
Test
Nobody.
M-Lok is a trash system compared to keymod or a traditional rail. There's a reason no gucci manufacturers are making it.
try asking the AR general thread
>>33479763
Poor bait
>>33481776
Stop being poor. Gucci and poor don't mix, what retard boat did you ride in on?
>>33479763
Gucci doesnt come in shelfmod
You should build your own upper OP, and grab a Geissele MK8 for it.
You could also grab an assembled BCM or Aero, and put your own rail on that.
>>33481936
Keymod is shelfmod
>>33479763
>no-name
>aero precision
topkek
>>33481820
Keymod is inferior to mlok. It's less durable. The army is switching over to mlok. Keymod will join communism in the dustbin of shit ideas. Troy industries has its inventor among them, which is all you need to know
Everyone will eventually come back around to quad rails.
geissele
>>33479763
Why don't u ask /arg/?
Geissele, Noveske
Geissele doesn't make uppers, they make rails
>>33479763
Not sure if literal retard
By "upper" I am assuming you mean "handguard".

Every single one of those I listed is available with MLok, hence, the reason I fucking listed it.

There's gucci and there's absurd. 2k for a mere upper is retarded
I've always been a fan of Midwest industries. Got two of their mlok super slim lightweights and they're very nice.
>>33479763
1. Buy upper based on things that actually matter, like bcg and barrel.
2. Put whatever handguard you want on it.
Brandfagging is for women.

they're good rails bront
Is there any convenient inforgraphic to list companies that sell AR parts and their pros and cons?
Noob question , but is replacing a hand guard a pain in the ass?
aeroprecision
>>33486993
no you're just poor.
LMT or Daniel Defense then i guess.
Maybe a Primary Weapons System.
>>33483987
The upper is a psa but the rail is a kac urx 4. Highly recommended. The barrel nut is machined into the rail and you just use shims to get it tightened correctly. Pretty neat.
>>33493017
Also the qd attachments are limited rotation which is really nice for not tangling up your sling.
>>33479763
build your own upper
>>33487398
Midwest industries is gucci tier now?
>>33493199
Not gucci, but are they good for the $150 range?
>>33493213
Dude there's a handful of companies that machine uppers themselves. Most contract out. Same with lowers. Unless it's super Gucci like lmt or hk it's all basically the same shit. Just get a good barrel, bolt carrier, rail and optic.
>>33493259
Not OP. Just asking about MI handguards.
>>33493266
No
Get a Mk8

I can't seem to find that upper being sold seperately
>>33493259
That's bullshit but I want to believe it
>>33494853
If you want the gooch, you pay the door price. Buy complete rifle, sell the lower keep the upper.
>>33496003
Is the gooch worth it? What's so fundamentally different between a DD and an OEM manufacturer that makes most of the shit on these rifles?
>>33494853
You can buy the handguard on its own and build an upper. $300 for the 15 inch rail
>>33496593
Is that a pain in the ass to do? Never done such a thing
>>33496650
I actually just finished mine. You'll need a few tools but they're not super expensive. You can also just take the parts to a gunsmith.
>>33499206
Any snags I could run into? How hard did you find it to be? The toughest thing I've done with my AR was switch my end plate and restake
>>33499494
It's pretty easy if you can do that. You'll need a torque wrench, an upper receiver block (I like Magpul's BEV block because it doubles as a magwell block for the lower) and a vise. Lowes can hook you up with a little 4-inch hobby vise for around $35. It seems like a lot of hoops to jump through but it's worth it - you can get far with those tools alone. Honestly the toughest part is dimpling the barrel for the gas block, and even that sounds a lot more intimidating than it is. If you'd like, I can put together a list of parts you'll need to build an upper.
>>33496501
All DD rifles have DD rails and a DD CHF barrel. You can find the DDM4 V7 LW for like 1300 when they go on sale. The barrel and the rail are worth like 625 dollars retail, so there's good value there.
>>33499698
>Honestly the toughest part is dimpling the barrel for the gas block
>unpinned gas block
oh god, has this meme taken hold?
>>33499698
>>33499727
That's another point, you can get a clamp-on or a pin-on gas block. ADCO and Rainer will dimple or pin it for you for a fee.
>>33500161
Never get a clamp on gas block.
Random qtddtot here:
I'm assuming MOE handguard doesn't include the barrel nut for weight; is this correct? And how much does a barrel nut, that it uses, weigh?
Anyway, I like
>lol Midwest Industries
the LWMG3. It's about as skeletonized as you can get for < $200 at 9.3 oz for 15" including its nut.
I just don't like having that white text/logo on my shit though.
>>33500230
The MOE handguard used the default delta-ring/barrel nut that most factory non-floated ARs use. Not including the handguard that's 4oz.
>>33479763
Mega arms, KAC, Noveske, Geissele
>pic related is Mega arms
>>33482258
>Keymod is inferior to Mlok, it doesn't have Magpul's marketing weight behind it.
Fixed that for you.
>>33492838
Hey man I like aero too but they aren't gucci by any means
>>33500356
MLOK is reversible, KeyMod isn't. Also MLOK doesn't look like store shelving.
>>33500464
Walmart actually switched to mlok
>>33500348
That looks like a steampunk ar
>>33481820
Agreed. M-Lok is garbage. Keymod remains the superior platform.
>>33501495
That's why all true operators shart at Walmart
>>33504396
Why do you say that? Us military says you're wrong.
