AR thread

Bought my first AR-15. Its basic, from PSA. Typical magpul stuff for the grip, handguard and stock. Basic fixed front sight and magpul rear flip sight. A2 flash hider. mag release, BCG, charging handle etc.

What else should I get or do to it?

Extended mag release? Shooting finger is short, machine accident took the tip. Those larger charging handles? Fore grip? Light mount?

Idk what even works with this odd magpul stuff.

Which scope? Strikefire or spitfire or the sparc?

I just dont want to spend hundreds on this but I do want sheap and/or essential upgrades.

Where do I get cheap quality mags? pmags are like $14 everywhere. I dont see steel in my stores too.

Its a freedom series ar15 from PSA. Not their ptac or their higher end premium models

Buy a ton of ammo. Learn to shoot it well with irons in the meanwhile saving for a decent optic that blends well with the cost of your rifle (ie: Strikefire, one of the Burris/PA/SWFA offerings, etc). That's what I'd do, others here will probably tell you that you need an ACOG and DD rail and all that stuff. At this point being your first, you don't even know if you like the AR platform yet. You might hate it and want to get a bolt gun or something so why go crazy from the start.
