Laguiole isn't actually a brand, but the name of the city where it was originally made, it's a coloquial name of that type of knife.
There is actually another type of knife that can be carried, the Swiss knife.
In practice however, it's really up to the cops if they want to arrest you and bring you to a court, and up to the judge of whether you'll get sentenced or not (600€ fine and confiscation of the knife). Most times no one is going to care, but if encounter the "progressist" SJW type, you'll get fucked.
