Is there any model of gun in existence that could reasonably be said to have never been used to take a human life?

Some prototype only guns.
Probably some of those expensive ass target pistols.
Same for those one off Olympic sporting rifles.
But other than that you really are pushing it with even saying "probably not"
>>
Im sure a few of the ones on forgotten weapons never took a life

There's actually a decent chance the wa2000 never has drawn blood.

There are lots of meme guns that never make it to production, so those won't kill anyone. A few that make it to production never get picked up by any military/police so they never get manufactured or sold in large numbers, those have a chance of never being used on people.

Also from wikipedia

These weapons had the best barrel length to overall length ratio among the assault rifles. Firing from an unstable position, the TKB-022PM No. 1 and the TKB-022PM No. 2 had a three times better accuracy than the AKM. The TKB-022PM5 No. 1 had a better accuracy than the AKM when fired from a hand in a lying position at a distance of 100 meters.

The rifle was just a scout rifle, so if they went off-course on landing they could hunt while they waited for rescue. Someone has probably been murdered with it; the Russian space program wasn't the only buyer. The 20mm cannon on the Soyuz station was just a shvak iirc, not some special design, and shvaks have killed a ton of people.

Sorry, the Salyut-3 space station. The Russians were afraid we'd mess with the station, so they armed it with a 23mm cannon. It was a Nudelman NR23, not a shvak. Point still stands though, NR23's have killed a ton of people too.

The G-11, it was an assault rifle designed by H&K that fired caseless ammunition. If the Berlin wall never fell they might have gone into production and caseless ammo might have caught on. 1 million were made, but very few were actually distributed, mainly because it was deemed more practical to use the planes meant for airdropping them to just drop bombs than drop pistols in hope some would be found by partisans and actually effectively used.

That said, some were sent to china but no records exist detailing their use. Some were given to Filipino insurgents during WWII and used against the Japanese, as well as used by Filipino police after WWII, so I'm assuming at least 1 jap soldier or criminal was unlucky enough to get hit by that pistol.

I'd bet that most "range toy" large caliber rifles have never taken a life. Even somewhat practical guns like Serbu's .50s have probably never been fired at a human target.

Unlike things like the Jackhammer, these are actually mass-produced guns that can be bought, too.

>>33456365
On a similar note, has the PSG1 ever been used in anger?

>>33461572
I feel like going with a prototype is kind of cheating. There are thousands of other guns in the same situation.

A lot of these designs were evolutions of German WWII designs.

The west took the rocket scientists and biotech guys in operation paperclip...but what's not well known is that the soviets snagged a lot of the firearm designers and stuck them away in factories churning out prototypes for the rest of their life.

Arguably a pretty /k/ way to spend your life as a POW.
