What is /k/'s opinion of fully automatic shotguns?
The Daewoo USAS-12, the AA-12, etc.
Why do you like/dislike it?
Outside of extremely limited police use, absolutely pointless.
metric fuckton of firepower, also fuckhueg and can be prone to reliability issues.

Too big to fail
They are pretty badass, but I couldn't image what the fuck I would do with one if I had it.

pretty neat, but rather pointless
OP here. I actually own a civilian model semi-auto version of the USAS-12, and while I know that's a considerably different experience than using it full-auto, it's a wonderful gun. It's got the heft to compensate for the recoil, puts enough buckshot downrange fast enough, and is perfect for home defense (for me anyway). I live out in the woods, and my house is really open, so I don't have hallways or many tight corners. I can cover basically my whole house just by turning, so the USAS just gives me complete coverage, and the 20-shell drums give me enough ammo to repel any intruder with ease.

My range doesn't have rules about what you can shoot clays with, so people do that shit all the time.

excessive

I dont care how useless they are in a 99% of situations. I want one. Even in semi Auto I want an AA-12

They might be useful in an "oh shit, they're inside the building" type scenario, but other than that they're pretty useless. I'd rather just have a carbine or sub machine gun.
pretty useless but might have utility in killing skinwalkers, and maybe androids

impractical and heavy, but cool as fuck and would love to own a few
too bad uncle same is cuck and wont let me own machine guns post 86
>>33451846
I'm sure my range would let me do it, it's just kind of silly.

They're good for breaching a room without transitioning to another gun, but they're usually bulky and low capacity. Their strength is ammo flexibility. A riot situation might be ideal if it could actually cycle beanbag loads. Maybe birdshot for massed drone swarms, tracking tags for animals, incendiary shells for frost elementals or antimatter shells for plasmamancer cataphracts.

Your breacher enters a room after everyone else, if at all, so it wont particularly matter what hes using.
