ITT, shit anti-gunners say.
>Do you want a Barret ask the goverment
>Do you want a bulletproof vest ask the goverment
>Owning guns is a privilege granted by exception of the state not a right
>The gun owners must move within the law not try to change it
>t. Fudd
This kind of assholes really trigger me.
Why are those assholes owning guns again?
They don't value their freedom and natural rights.
>>
>>33445830
a lot of hunters, especially in the EU, see hunting as their expensive status symbol hobby. they throw money at it like other rich folks throw money at cars. if some working class pleb comes along and owns better/more capable guns, this puts his status in question (in his own dumb eyes). to them, owning guns isn't a natural right, it's a privilige you get by paying for it.
>>
>>33445830
It's a Bill of Rights, not a Bill of Privileges Granted by Exception of the State.

in the recent presidential election the head of the hunter's organization came out in favour of the Green Party candidate who is as anti gun as you can be. let that sink in. the chief hunter of the state, the guy dealing with game affairs, openly spoke in favour of the guy who wants to abolish all private gun ownership. pic related, the disgust for even this traditional tyrolean gun and marksman is all over his face. but hey, gotta go camgaining for votes...

>I shot like 400 rounds just today, and I just recently became a gun owner. Honestly made me laugh out loud
This is a recurring them I see with people who were previously anti gun or on the fence who then go on to purchase a firearm.

They grossly underestimate how much ammunition one can blow in a single range trip and how expensive it can get. It seems pretty universally believed that shooting through a few boxes of ammunition is an exhausting all day affair until they actually get behind the trigger. Thus the dollar per hour of enjoyment is low in their minds compared to reality.

I have yet to witness a gun grabber turned gun owner who hasn't expressed this.

I hate saying this - and bear in mind that I'm staunchly pro-gun - but there are legitimate doubts about the 2A's intent.

Most legal precedent, including that set by the US Supreme Court, said that the 2A did not in fact guarantee individual ownership of firearms or prohibit restrictions on them, and it was only a few years ago, with Heller vs. DC, that the Supreme Court turned around on that issue.

That said, currently the 2A DOES legally enshrine individual rights, as a result of Heller, but we're only one conflicting Supreme Court decision away from a reversal and I think it could be a legitimate one from a strict constitutionalist perspective.

Actually, every single gun control law that held up in the SC does. From the NFA to the 'salt wepuns ban, many infringements were declared constitutional. That would be precedent that the 2A does not protect the right of the people to keep and bear Arms uninfringed. Whether or not those decisions truly are constitutional is at your discretion (they're clearly not) but the people who get the final say said "Yea."

nail on head. Shotgun owners in the UK are the fucking worst for this, try going to a clay shoot with anything other than a side by side (even then it's got to be the price of a new Maserati) and you'll get sneered at by Lord Childsrapingworth and pals.

Rifles is either middle aged men complaining about "the wife" and putting magpul parts on their straight-pull AR15s or teenage girls with godlike shooting ability.

Airsoft is so popular here because you can go be an autist in the woods on a Sunday and don't have to take out a second mortgage or have your bloodline tested for nobility.

Nah, can't agree with OP there. At least in these parts there's vastly more hunt/skeet gun owners than pistol/revolver/army rifle owners. Which means that if the Govt even pokes at restricting gun rights further, they get the whole countryside at their throats. Now if there were just a handful of gun lovers, they'd shit on us and ask how we liked it afterwards. So let the fudd ranks keep on growing. They are literally the wall that keep the rest of us safe.
>>
>>33453082

>>
>>33455971
Until really the 90s, fudds usually didn't care or were actually anti-gun as long as their durr rifles would be left alone. Antigunners showed their hands after the 1994 AWB, showing really how far they wanted to go. This turned fudds into pro-gun allies (since their durr rifles became at risk) but I would not trust them to be truly pro-gun.

In the end, a lot of your fudd allies would sell you down the creek if they thought it meant that they could belong to an exclusive club.

Yeah like you can find any other trustworthy allies in any matter whatsoever? I take what cover I can find, where it is, while it is there.

Anyway I shouldn't talk, I'm in a different country where gun culture evolved differently. There's a gun in practically every household but most murder/killing is done with kitchen knives.

That doesn't address the claim that until Heller the Collective Right reading was the official reading of the SCOTUS.

I have yet to see someone who makes this claim able to actually back it up. And those that think they can usually cite Miller. And they usually do because they completely misunderstand Miller and after I point out what Miller actually says they usually go away.

The Collective Right reading was, is, and will always be within the realm of academia. There is no actual legal precedent for the Collective Right reading.

>Guns being as tightly controlled as cars
I wouldn't mind this, even in the US. These people don't know what they are asking for:
>need a license, test, etc. to use guns in public, but pretty much everyone can get it unless too physically disabled to use a gun
>regulations on types of guns used in public
However:
>no licensing or regulations whatsoever on guns in private
>can transport guns between private locations without license or regulation, as long as they are not fired/loaded
You could have (and build) full auto DDs with no registration as long as you kept it at home, in the same way that you can drive whatever you want on private roads - car regulations apply only to driving on public roads.

Ok.
I was not really defending the bait poster specifically, just saying that there are many infringements currently ratified which have been deemed constitutional by the SC. That alone shows quite plainly that as far as the powers that be are concerned the 2A is more like a suggestion than a rule, and as it is being treated as such there is precedent for future fuckey.
