Dear Ameri/k/unt brothers.
Apache vs SuperCock.
What's your opinion. Both are an option for Poles & other cuntries,
both are field-proven, thought SuperCobra saw limited export.
Both are offered for Poles & Czechs.
We already manufacture parts of BlackCocks in Poland, so we will probably go with Apache, but I want to hear your opinion.

Speak your mind.

Because economy & industry.

Czechs don't have marines last time I checked. So no good excuse to have more than one type.

Apache has better range, payload, ceiling, weapon systems and stability as a firing platform over the Cobra.
The Cobra has only two advantages: speed and small size for naval ops. If you are not the US Marines, it doesn't really mean anything, and both costs nearly the same.

Cheaper maintnance, maybe?
>If you are not the US Marines
I heard that before.
What does it mean, more see-worthy, as in, resiliant to sea elements? (those are quite harsh, noobs dont know about it).
>>33443258
Generally yes, though the brit Apache has been made sea worthy with no problems.
As far as maintenance goes, it's relative in a few ways, the cobra is simpler but more cramped and less compartimentalized than the bigger Apache. The Apache is more resilent and armored.

Czechs are leaning more towards the Viper, while Polaks are pretty much decided already to go with the Apache.
>>33443219
3rd advantage with Cobra is commonality with UH-1, less spare parts to stock on ships or forward operating bases and common maintenance training for mechanics.
Cobra looks thing elegant whereas Apache looks mean and beefy. I like them both.

I prefer the looks of the Apache myself. That gun without a fairing has a certain charm.

Basically the Apache is better in near every way except for horizontal profile. The only reason the MC went with the Cobra was because the cost to up tier their old Cobras to Zulus was less than to buy new choppers.
If you're starting from scratch there's no reason to go with the supercobra other than A E S T H E T I C S.
Apaches can carry more weight, but aside from a larger gun, it has less hardpoints than the Cobra (Longbow equals it). Cobra is also faster, has a better climb rate, and has more range than the Apache.

I'd think the Cobra has a smaller support profile.

I wish the USA had decided to make a gunship + troop transport helicopter
>>33448516
It was tried with the Sikorsky S-67. Prototype ate shit at an air show, causing the project to be cancelled.

Why? The Hind can't do either of them well. If you're hunting tanks you don't want a platoon of troops sitting behind you. If you're delivering troops, you wan't to be focused on that and let the escort helos focus on keeping them safe. The hind was a flawed concept.
