Are pistol caliber carbines a meme?
>>
>>33441672
Everything is a meme. There is no escaping.
>>
>>33441672
Minorities seem to like them.
>>
>>33441672
Not really. I used to dislike them a bit for not being full auto, but with the right size barrel you can gain a significant energy gain over a pistol, making even 9mm a much more lethal and capable cartridge. I'd kill for a sweet semi auto .357 with a 16 inch barrel
>>
What's that middle Tan carbine?

I like how that looks. Is it a Magtech?
>>
>>33441677
Checked
>>
Aside from saving money plinking at the range, I think they're pointless in their neutered civilian forms.
>>
They're more interesting with hotter rounds.
>.357 and .44 magnum lever guns
>10mm semi autos
I wish lelkek made the sub2k in 10mm.
>>
>>33441740
I wish Ruger would make it's 10/22 series in a large variety of calibers. I know they used to make those .44 carbines, but it'd be sweet if they did them in 10mm, 5.7, etc...Put 30 round mag in it and call it a day
>>
I want a keltec sub2k that takes glock mags. I don't care if it's a meme or not. It's something I need.
>>
>>33441723

>>33441754
ruger made what was essentially the 10/22 in .44 magnum, then in 9mm and .40s&w. they dropped them though, while they still make the piece of shit mini-14.
>>
>>33441787
Yah I remember those old carbines, PC9 or something. They need to reboot them in multi calibers, interchanging barrels and 30 round mags. If anyone will do it it's based Ruger
>>
>>33441719
every gun is not full auto if you aren't rich as fuck.
unless you live in iraq or some shit
>>
>>33441778
I'll look into it, thanks. I like the sub2k because it folds up. I like the idea of taking it camping like that.
>>
>>33441771
I'd rather it be 9mm.

If I could get 9mm for a price roughly around 22lr I'd be stupid happy.
>>

My keltec s2k is a tack driver.

I mean its a fun gun and in a pinch can save your life.

Not really anything wrong with it.

Downsides are;

The entire thing is only rated for 6000 rounds. Not the barrel. The whole gun. Says so on kel tecs site.

>>
>>33446609
The AP isn't for sale directly through FN, nor is FN the only manufacturer of the cartridge. While I don't agree with him, the only downside to his suggestion would be the size of the guns. We're it to legit replace .22lr, that would mean it's widely available, dirt cheap and available in a shitload of guns while also being more reliable for just about everything.

The P90 is blowback ffs
>>
>>33450664
FN is the only manufacturer of AP rounds for it.

The widely-commercially-available rounds blow dick at killing things larger than stray cats. The Vmax bullets don't penetrate enough (~4" of bare gel from a PS90 with 16" barrel), the AE FMJ's don't expand or tumble at all and overpenetrate like a motherfucker (>30" in bare gel from 5" barrel), the FN 28gr leadfrees don't do either.
>>
>>33441732
Lower recoil impulse, easier to supress, comanality of controls(AR ones that is), acceptable for most indoor ranges, cheaper as you already said. I have a Rock River to start my kids/wife off with(6 people)and it worked well for that.
>>
>>33441799
Agreed. If Ruger re-released these with some simple mods, it would be fucking H-U-G-E!

Modular stock, EBR, 9mm, .40S&W, .45cal, etc. It would be insane.

The stuff that's currently out there is complete shit- High points, Sub2000 (I have one in .40),- the one that are well regarded like the Ruger Police Carbines and the Marlins have risen to incredible prices.
>>
>>33451026
I'll add a caveat to that.
>the sub-$1000 ones are complete shit
The $1000+ ones are at least decent, with some being very good. But they're $1000+ for what will only ever be appropriate for a range toy until someone produces one suitable for hunting.

>>
>>33443497
No, the Brazilian ones are rough at most. A bit of action work, and it's fine. Thing is built like a tank and I load mine eith some pretty stout rounds
>>
>>33451020
I thought I had remembered people loading .223 bullets into the 5.7 case. Is this still a thing? I'm sure its not ideal for accuracy, but I bet you'd at least be able to get a decent bullet in there.
>>
>>33451847
They literally take the same bullets. 5.7 is just a short .223
>>
>>33451874
Right, so why do people complain about availability of AP ammo if you can throw a copper barnes bullet in? Surely it'd be better than spending all their autism bucks on the FN blacktip or elite meme ammo.
>>
>>33451966
Because most people don't reload. The main problem with handloading 5.7 is that you cannot clean the case. The cases have a proprietary lacquer on them that is pretty vital to the function of the magazines and action. Cleaning too often, or to thoroughly will remove it.

Guys, I'm trying to find what the easiest subguns are for maintaining and replacing parts.
So far, the list contains, Scorpion EVO, 9mm AR, Sig MPX, UMP variants, and the 9mm Aug.
Is there anything else ?
I'm pretty much looking for the AR of subguns that allows the user to replace every single part with limited requirement for large specialized tools.
Bonus points for 9x19mm or .22LR.

Son, they are legit impossible to replace. 9mm AUG kits go for as much as the AUG itself, are no longer imported and use a custom Steyr mag. Love my AUG, but under no case should the AUG be considered as a reasonable 9mm. If you want to ball out do it though. As for a good list

Go with the mpx... AR triggers, user replaceable barrels, AR like controls, growing aftermarket.
>>
>>33458452
I'm inclined to with either MPX or EVO 3.
I need to know which parts will require maintenance first, before I make a decision to dedicate all my money to either gun.
But if the MPX takes AR triggers, and perhaps AR stocks with an aftermarket part, I would seriously consider that.
>>
>>33458499

Or any MPX for that matter.

Thinking this is gonna be fucking expensive.

I get everyone's kids on paper with it before moving on to sighting in whatever they plan to hunt with as part of the hunters safety course so they can "demonstrate proficientcy" and the local PD slips me 9mm at a few cents a round and usually send a cop by to get the paperwork right before the court house kicks it back for something stupid. Your rifle will be fine.

Bubba does it again!

I want one in .44 so I can put a stock on it and use it to hunt deer.

I love my MP5. I will die with it in my collection.

They make me wish SBR's were deregulated. I want a uzi or skorpion carbine without the fuck long 16 inch barrel.

>more actually

barely. The velocity increase with .357, going from 4" to 16" barrels, is more than any other handgun cartridge I'm aware of (up to 600 ft/s)

Found mine on Gunbroker... LE/MI pricing. However I can find them for $1250 all day without special pricing without the brace.

>How is the cover around the ejection port? the semi circular one. Is it a solid piece?

Yeah it's just a chunk of plastic that plugs 1/4 of the ejection port. It's held in place with the door rod and a spring that keeps tension on it. They still wiggle around a bit they are not very solid.

probably going to get myself the scorpion evo as a birthday present next week, then file to sbr it. seems like the best subgun

>$699 pistol
>$150 stock
>$200 stamp

so pretty much $1100 or so for a great 9mm sbr, can't really beat it

>If the NFA didn't exist every home in America would have a subgun for their home defense.
Rural homes should still have a .357mag or .44mag lever gun for home defense. Good for Pooh and Jamal alike.

>I'm seriously considering the EVO but the plastic receiver kinda bothers me

Isn't the plastic just a shell outside the metal receiver?
>>
>>33459209

No, it's a commercial item.

.357max gains about 650-700fps going from a 4" barrel to a 14" barrel. A solidly-within-book-norms 158gr handload will hit about 2200fps from a 14" Contender, and some people are throwing 200gr bullets at around 1800fps.
>yfw .357 Maximum, a lenghened .357mag, gets *lower* muzzle velocities than .357mag from barrels under 5"
