Unless aftermarket sks mags have improved recently, I would just avoid them. The rifle was not designed to work with detachable magazines and they usually aren't reliable. Stripper clips are the way to go here anon.

Sup dudes, this is my DSA SA58 (FAL clone for those who dont know)

I've tried putting several different optics on it and the cheekweld is always too low (perfect for the iron sights though).

My options are:

1: Rock the irons, army marksman here so it's definitely, just not ideal
2: Find some super-low profile optic. So far even my pistol RMR is too tall
3: Cheek riser, last case scenario, really not trying to fuck up the rifle's ergo/aesthetic

Are there any magazines I can use for a p-83 other than trimmed makarov magazines? Hi point magazines were too wide, bersa/ppk magazines were too short. Are there any other single stack 380 magazines (maybe a extended ppk magazine) that I could try?

Why shouldn't an SKS be my first gun?

Can anybody point me to a decent quality, stainless, fluted, 1/2x28 threaded, 10/22 barrel? Preferably factory taper. Everywhere I look says threaded very clearly in the link and brings up a bull sporter.

Was the slide issue really a big deal in the Beretta 92f compared to the fs?
Was the weapon compromised because of it or was it just some minor edge cases that Beretta ironed out?

Taking my AR shooting for the first time. I don't shoot rifles much, and I had a question about form.
Where exactly should the butt of the stock be placed? I'm assuming right on the meat of my shoulder.
And how should my shooting hand be placed on it? When shooting a handgun, I make sure that the grip sits in the web of my hand, and that the pad of my finger is on the trigger. Does that still matter when shooting rifles?

I've shot a 10/22 in addition to a few 22 and 9mm handguns a couple times over the last few years.

I personally like the history and feel of older guns much more than if I were to own, say, a traditional first pick like a modern 10/22.

The SKS seems like a fairly reliable platform with decently cheap ammo, although obviously not quite at the level of .22LR.

If it changes anything, I anticipated transfer fees adding up for milsurp in the future so I applied for and just received my C&R license.

Unless you're getting a REALLY good condition Yugo or Norinco; you might as well just buy an AK for $100 more.

Look into an M92 PAP, Draco, etc. Got an M92 PAP for $500 last year and I'm always seeing SKS's for that much.
