Pic very much related

To keep things short, consider the following
>have shot XDs-9 before, liked it
>have not shot CZ RAMI, but liked the CZ-75
>not a big fan of the grip/trigger safety on the XDs
>not a big fan of the width of the CZ RAMI
>would carry XDs loaded
>would carry CZ RAMI half-cocked, safety off

I'm not worried about ND from either, but you can berate me for it anyway

My main concern is the width of the CZ RAMI. Watching videos of people holding it, it looks awfully thick to CC. But I also don't have any hands-on experience CCing (this would be my first handgun, I'm mostly a riflefag)

I like them both honestly, and they're more or less the same price as far as I can see

what do
>>
xd not cause its a xd and xd is better but cause its striker fired instead of hammer and you want it for ccw. hammers are great at jabbing you in the side when you bend

why are you considering the XDm and not the XD? jw
>>
The biggest difference is loaded weight. The RAMI is a heavy little bastard.

And then the other one is a Springfield.
>>
>>33433516
>>33433628
sorry, i cannot into reading.
Go with an XD, not the XDs. I have an XDs, and I'm going to switch over. The new XD with the GripZone (tm) feels better in my hand than my 1911. XDs is too short, and the extendo mag makes it less concealable.
>>
>>33433669
b-but i like the xds
>>
>>33433516
find a rami to fingerfuck, i doubt you'll be able to find one to rent
>>
>>33433760
I do to, that's why I picked it over the shield initially.
There's nothing wrong with it, just personal preference. I don't feel like I'll be able to get a solid grip to draw it and fire under duress. Actually, I probably just don't like single-stack in general (JMB designs excluded)
I would at least compare the XD, then go with whichever you like. Honestly the gun matters a lot less than the practice+training.
>>
bump to find people that have personal experience with the CZ RAMI
>>
XD mod 2 with (((GRIP ZONE))) is pretty boss. May not get much love on /k/ due to grip safety cancer, but I can personally vouch for it's incredible hand feels and surprising accuracy.

It may not be the info you're looking for OP, but just a suggestion.

I wanted a RAMI for the longest time but decided to just get a Ruger LC9 and wait for a P-01 to be my cz/full sized handgun
>>
XDS owner here.
I think its the best single stack 9mm out there. Its heavier than the LC9/Shield/PPS but with out of the box fiber optics and the trigger i think its great, and the price is right below $400. As for the grip safety worries, unless you're dressing up and playing operator in the woods and trying to cause a malfunction, it wont happen. They are well built and will do well with CC'ing and range time. Just don't try to fuck it up.
If you want a single stack get the XDS, if you want a double stack, personally I would not get an XD because they feel like a brick to me.

I carry an XDS 9 every day, its a great gun and has never let me down. Springfield is running their gear up promo right now, which makes the XDS a great deal. 4 extra mags, double mag pouch, and OWB holster.

Your next question might be, what holster do I get for CC? I use a INCOG when I dick carry and a Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3 when I 4oc carry. Both are great. The AG is the best bang for your buck. You can buy multiple shells for it for about $10 each and swap them out when you want to carry a different gun.
>>
>>33434567
+1 for incog and dick carry
only issue I've had w/ my XDs is finding a kydex holster that is compatible with a flashlight. they don't exist :(
>>
>>33434596
I have the same issue.

Alien gear makes a XDS shell that can house a XDS with Viridian Reactor R5 laser. From what I can tell, the Reactor Tac Light looks to be the same size and design as the R5 laser, so that might fit. I emailed Alien Gear to ask but the guy basically said "i dunno, try it out and just return it if it doesnt work".

I haven't gotten around to it, I've read bad reviews of the Reactor TL, so I'm not sure I want to go that route.

it looks like such a hand cannon

Clips are not the same as magazines. The M1 Garand was the only gun I know of that used clips.

XDs mags are single stack, and fit in the gun... There are extended mags that stick out a ways and extend the grip, and standard mags that fit flush.
>>
For the people that AREN'T newfags who need to lurk moar:

the XDs-9 has a flush mag of 7+1, and an extendo mag of 9+1

the CZ RAMI has a flush mag of 10+1 and an extendo mag of 14+1
>>
>>33433516
You are doing something wrong OP, neither one of those is a LEM HK

she might be thicker and heavier but she is beautiful.
>>
>>33434963
is she CCable?
>>
>>33435273
yes but not a pocketgun like a G43 or i imagine the XDs-9 is like to me.
>>
Honestly width is not that big of factor when carrying.Yes, thinner helps but it's not a deal breaker. You can bulk up a single stack with the wrong holster.

I would throw in the alloy frame, CZ-75 compact over the RAMI. Larger, but a better 1st handgun.
>>
>>33433516
RAMI is probably the only cz I wouldn't buy. The 75c being a better choice.

If I wanted the lightest thinnest 9mm that shot well I'd get a walther though, PPS or CCP.

Good luck with that anon. Luck is literally the only reason I've been able to shoot one.
>>
>>33433516

XDs 9s are great, been my top choice because of the stainless slide option, the stock fiber optic sight and the attachment rail.

My second choice would be an LC9S Pro.

I like single stack 9mm striker fired pistols.
>>
>>33433516

id personally pick the cz over the xd because i like the trigger way WAAAAY more. plus second strike is nice.

but the XD will come with extra mags etc with springfields promotion.

id still pick the cz.

Second strike is a meme. If you get a dead round you should Tap-Rack-Shoot regardless of striker or hammer fired.
>>
>>33438521
is the XD not gonna have second strike?
>>
>>33438787

it is striker fired, so no. personally preference on wether you like striker fired or hammer fired.

for my pocket gun i carry a kahr mk9, which is striker fired but i enjoy hammer fired more. pocket gun doesnt have exposed hammer or other giblets, so it is a smoother draw.

>>33438752

i like memes tho.
>>
Honestly I'm probably going to go with the XDs, just because it's more versatile (I COULD carry the RAMI if I wanted to badly enough, but the XDs is easier)

Width does matter, especially to these people who are new to carrying and are going to pocket carry even though people like us tell them it's not usually preferable.

I carry a P01 myself but when I try to teach younger people that IWB of a compact is better all I get are blank stares from people who are going to end up buying LCPs no matter what I say.
>>
>>33442276
Width is damn near a non factor when compared to height.
>>
>>33437571
Does the soft coil technology in the CCP really make a difference in recoil? I rented it at my local range recently and it felt pretty snappy to me, but then again that was the first single stack 9 I've shot in a while.
>>
>>33442437
According to people, yea.
>>
>>33442381
Find two guns of identical height and different widths and stick them in your pockets and tell me width doesnt make a difference in fit and print.

It matters much less in iwb and it is a 'near non factor' if you're carrying owb under a coat.

>>
>>33442734
I will tell you that. Width, like I said, is damn near a non factor. Unless you're trying to conceal one of those double 1911s, you aren't going to notice the extra .3" between a double stack and a single stack 9mmP handgun.
