Gonna buy a pump shotgun, for no other reason than shits & giggles.
Since my country has no SBS laws, I was wondering: What length you'd recommend?
Since this is just for recreative use, mag cap is not very relevant. I won't be shooting skeet or trap with it, so no need for extra length there. SBS would be handy for home defense, I guess, but it's certainly not a primary use for it.
Main choices appear to be 14", 18.5" & 20". I'm rather torn. Short is handy & lighter. Long has longer sight radius and higher capacity (also more readily available).
That's less feedback than I expected.

If you don't plan on shooting skeet or trap, I'd recommend the 14" for no other reason than handiness.

Frankly, a shotgun barrel isn't that heavy. So chopping it off a bit, wouldn't lower weight by much. Or am I wrong?
It'd make it easier to maneuver inside enclosed spaces though.

Genuinely curious about what glorious country has no limitations on SBS.
Here in the US, you can get a 14 inch barrel shotgun but you have to pay out the ass for one. If money wasn't an option, I'd say going to 14 inch would be without question for me personally.

Multiple european countries do not have SBS or SBR laws. Since we have individual permits per gun, it doesn't seem to matter. A pistol or rifle permit is equally hard to get, so there's no real difference for us.
From what I can tell, the new EU guidelines are aiming to change that. Minimum size restriction will likely be 60cm with stock folded or collapsed. Which is still find for a 14" shotgun with a collapsing stock, so I'm not worried.
The most impacted people will be PCC owners. Those are very frequently shorter than 60cm (HK MP5, CZ Scorpion EVO3, B&T APC9,...)

I don't know why the fuck they don't.

In a perfect world.

While that barrel weight isn't much, it does help with balance. A ten pound dumbell is a lot easier to manage than a five pound weigh at the end of a long stick

Makes sense.

flags do nothing but encourage shitposting.
