LBT 6094, Source hydration carrier, and some unknown pouches. I used to have an S&S Precision skeleton insert that I used but as well as it kept my mags I didn't like how the solid kydex was so thick, so I switched it out for just a soft insert. Then I have some unknown triple mag pouch on the front which I've been considering switching out for a BFG pouch because again, I like it being as low profile as possible when not in use.

looks good pham. a BFG pouch would definitely make it more streamlined. Do you have plates? or real guns? or is it purely for bbwarz.

when you take the mags out of the bfg pouches they lay so flat it's like there isn't a mag pouch there.
>>
>>33430476
What IFAK is this and what are the contents? I'm looking at various options right now and trying to determine what will fit everything I want to have.
>>
>>33430476
I have a .22, that's all so far. I live in Commiefornia and was trying to get enough money together for a non-cucked AR before they changed the laws around but when it came down to it all the shops in town had sold out of anything that wasn't incredibly expensive, and they all had very high transfer fees, as well as having their transfer deadline like three weeks before the actual deadline for finishing the purchase before the laws went into effect. So I'm trying to decide now what route I want to go, whether it be getting a featureless AR or Mini-14, etc. or maybe going for an SKS or something else. Will probably get a handgun sometime this year too. No real plates yet either, would rather invest that money into actual guns first.

it's the hsgi bleeder pouch.

sheers
cat TQ
6 inch Israeli bandage
3 pairs of gloves in a baggie
2 sealed packages of gauze

it's a really small ifak and i will never be used. if i was actually getting shot at i would have more training and more medical shit. when i build a belt rig i'm probably going to add another small ifak pouch. When i build my slick im just gonna use a dangler.

i've had the pouch for years and it has held up to me crawling around and shit every time i go shooting or to a /k/ meet.

>>33430487
i live in commiefornia too. we should airshit together sometime. I just went to milsim west rostov rising.
if you want an AR just buy a lower at a local gunstore then order the rest of the parts online and have them shipped to your house. just get a bulletbutton and dont take your gun to the range. if you shoot innawoods and inna desert you will be fine and when the laws get fixed in the next few years you will be golden.
Mini-14s are generally ass.
i wanted an sks but they are more expensive now that the yugos with grenade launcher lugs are illegal.

the market for AR parts right now is really good so if you just snag a lower for 90-150 you could build a functioning gun for 500 or a solid one for 1000+
>>
>>33430522
The problem was I didn't turn 21 until January 3rd of this year, otherwise I definitely would have just bought a lower and collected the parts afterwards. Every shop I went to said they couldn't sell me a lower, even if I had them add a stock and everything to it to bar it from being considered a handgun, oh well. I might just go for an AR anyway but I mostly shoot at a popular range, innadesert wouldn't be too bad though. I'm in SoCal by the way, normally I airshit at Code Red in Perris, but there's also SC Village, Jungle Park, Hollywood Sports Park, Warped Ops, and Tac-City in the area.

I missed Rostov, but I did go to Kazakh Insurgency back in November, that was some good shit and was my first Milsim West.
>>
>>33430559
you can still buy a lower. alternatively you could do an 80% lower
>>
>>33430559
>Code Red in Perris
post a burner email, i will get you in the /k/alifornia slack. we do meets every couple months and go to MSW and trump rallys and shit
>>
>>33430561
I can now, definitely. Just saying that when I was 20 they wouldn't let me do any of that even though I had been told it'd be fine if I had them attach the stock and grip. Said they were only allowed to sell me a completed rifle. I'll probably invest in getting an AR started soon though depending on how the next few months go for me.

I'm pretty sure the original FAST helmets are only like $700-800 when you can find them (Botach), so I don't know where $1700 came from. I guess I also don't know where $260 for the AVS plate carrier came from either, considering it's like $850.

Whatever you're planning on putting on your back and in half those pouches could go in a backpack instead.
On your belt/harness:
- mags
- FAK
- multitool
- comms
And that's about it. They call it a "battle belt/harness" for a reason: it's just the shit you throw on for a fight. Anything survival- or comfort-related goes in a day pack that you can shed quickly to move better under fire if necessary, eg. extra water, food, fire kit, etc.
>>
>>33431320
-Pistol on in the right most m4 mag pouch
-multitool and flasslight in the pouches next to it
-left mag pouches for mags
-chest level pouch for a mini med kit
-food and water on back
Can always reconfigure, but patrol was the mindset

overall a good tent

pros
>very nice pole system that self assembles
>comes with footprint
>available in that brown/earth color
>quick to set up

cons
>heavy for its size
>somewhat bulky when packed for its size
>rainfly doesnt reach ground which means when its windy air comes right into the tent
>2p so once two people are inside on sleeping pads space inside is limited to putting a rifle at your feet and thats about it

i give it a 7/10

Yeah, you should wear as much armor as physically possible so when you get caught up not being able to move you can at least take all the shots and keep going..

Oh, wait you can't because it's 3a and literally any rifle that someone's going to be shooting at you at home or overseas will go right through it.

Vehicle or POG ops, sure. If you're actually moving and doing shit then no. If you're really hauling ass then armor altogether is a ball of stupid.

Get your fuddlore out of here.

Such teen angst butthurt.

Advising people not to wear Kevlar is irresponsible, stupid, feckless and moronic. Good luck with hole in you asshat. Do you have any comprehension of the number of lives saved by soft Kevlar even BEFORE plates came around.

>frag
Really depends on what's actually exploding beside you and where you are. If you're in a closed room where the walls won't give then most generous explosions kill you from over pressure and tear you in half anyways. Down a street then it would be handier to have better protection for sure but kevlar's not going to save you from getting your legs blown off in the situation something goes off very close.

>richochets
Extreme larp fantasy and can hardly talk about it

>.22
If bubba's shooting at you with a .22 then you don't even need armor, just fucking shoot him, but at any rate plates will work just fine if not exceedingly well against bubba and his .22.

>birdshot
And then the birdshot doesn't even come close to killing you anyways

>handguns
and handguns fucking suck at killing people, wear side plates, have plates call it a day. You get shot in the lower stomach with 9mm and there's >90% statistically by hospital and treatment time chance you'll live.

I still don't see what your ranting about. Nothing wrong with BALCS but it's fucking retarded for anything but vehicle ops for IED protection and Fallujah Infantry fighting.

I'm not sure why you're bringing up .22's or handguns anyways since if someone shot you in the same place with a rifle then it would be far more harmful. Where if either or hit your plate your fine compared to 3a where rifles will go through.

God, why? Assuming it was issued and you came back with it. Gear use outside deployment is a lot different then deployed desu. You are being dumb.

I'm here because soft armour stopped not plates. Just off the plate on my back right shoulderblade and another on the right shoulder. Second time about 5 hits from a 9mm to my back.

I still have the damaged insert. Hang on until the phone gets more charge and I'll post it. First stop was a AK 7.62 from about 200-300 meters, dunno what kind of handgun was used the second time as I went down for a bit (hit on lower spine) and someone else kept it.;

I get dead arms easily now though on the right side and my back bitches a bit but that is probably more from doing stupid shit with rucks on.

>That looks a bit uncomfortable . Do those plates fit that carrier properly?

The black kit i9s not a carrier, they are ceramic lined Kevlar. Same as lvl3a but with a grid of ceramic squares over it. They will fit the likes of Bristol vests and any of the vario carriers. I had a set that fit the Danish/german style flack vest cut with float padding...that was my best vest but it got shot. The ceramic tiles are bink coloured and crumble to cement like dust when hit

The plates will go in anything with a plate pocket. More important is they are the same weight so don't cause forward back slop and are well shaped for me.

That's the story. Stupid and tired and too many people moving about
>>
>>33437860
>Do those plates fit that carrier properly?

Thje MTV thing was good to throw the plates in as you could throw it on over anything. I have a tan carrier made of suede-like leather with a silk liner that takes soft Kevlar that has had more use then the rest. It is very comfy. It takes an iotv like set (front opening)

Well I'm pretty confident you will never be 'operating' with me so no fucks are given, However if you were and had no Kevlar on it would be handy to have someone around to clean and make coffee. If you are 'operating' and someone fucks a nade you will be covered in little holes and when some prick shoots you in the nads with a .22 you will be equally sorry you were all high speed in an urban environment in stead of just putting your Kevlar on like a sensible lad.

The point is that most people here will be at no juncture rein acting being SF men in black in a high altitude high temp environment and in the slim possibility their vest/plates do more than sit in a cupboard may face a home or property intruder, who will probably not be carrying anything that will go through soft armour but who may hit off plate easily. So why encourage stupid?

The scenarios where plates only are possibly correct are vanishingly small compared to the scenarios where soft armour (yeadh and maybe plates) make sense. Plates only matter if your opponent has centerfire rifles and you have medivac

Sure have plates but in a manner where you can throw them on over good well fitted soft armour. On their own they are not much use because even if they stop if you take a centerfire rifle round anywhere off them from under 200M you will be pretty fucked anyway. Bullets move inside in weird ways. You will need rapid medical attention. Most threats will come from handguns, frag, blast, 22s shotguns and regular impacts. If the other side have centerfire rifles there is no point in wearing plates unless you have a medic and still always a point in wearing kevlar. There is nearly always a point in wearing soft armor in any scenario. Most people on here may only use their armour facing a home invader etc. Plates only is a bad choice compared to soft armour. It's great stuff. Most modern level 3a torso stuff is very light. Fuck knows how many lives have been saves by it.... tens of thousands....more.?

Blast, frag and ricochet contrary to what some have said is a big deal in buildings and closed in areas. Again soft armour is a big help. Plates only not so much.

I also got used to the feel of a torso vest and just like it. Feels snug and good. I think the IOTV is a bad design more because the plates and the Kevlar are always on together. You need the plates as something you can throw on and the torso Kevlar as snug and comfy as possible, well done it should even give some back support. It is always worn, the plates when needed.

My torso is very deep but with wise not so broad. The plates should cover nipple to nipple and from top of sternum down.

Bigger plates would disrupt movement and be a poor fit for me. Those work perfectly. I have a few sets of them and a few others in a junk box but that set fit perfect and chime, even now.

If I knew who armorous was I might care. Wear your Kevlar and get a good fitting torso lvl 3a soft and a plate carrier that you can throw on over it and stop listening to bullshit. In the event that you retain shoulder movement or avoid a colostomy bag or dialysis because some nigger shot you with a junk gun in the stomach and torso you can say a prayer for me in thanks and ponder what would have happened if you just had plates.. A gunshot wound is not just for Christmas it is usually for life.
>>
>>33439905
>lol ill prolly just end up buying a chicom or something like that and putting the money into my ar

A good system should allow above all proper weight distribution left and right and forward and back while allowing you to lie flat and access. Loads of fashion these days for piling stuff on the front of the torso because no one walks anymore and it makes for easy access in a vehicle but it is nice to fuck mother earth sometimes which a pile of shit strapped to your front will impair...Keep lbe separate to plates and both separate to soft armor.

I like old style lbes because it is easier to prepare them so they are balanced (for me). I don't know how people do that well with an all in one plate/soft/molle pouches all over the place rig.

you sound exactly like the kind of closed-minded conventional forces veteran that everyone hates.

if something happened to you once you cite it as an example over and over even though other people had literally opposite experiences

you insist that there's essentially only one solution to any problem, whether that be gear or tactics, and it's always the solution that you used yourself in a policing action against inept, nearsighted tribesmen shooting 40 year old rifles with no zeros and mixed up lots of ammo. if other people with comparable training and combat experience to you chose a different solution, you try to pretend they don't exist or that somehow their experience is less valid

you have literally no knowledge of trends in equipment or tactics outside your own tiny bubble but insist that your own way is best and that other ways will get people killed.

Some of the things you say are smart, but this is pretty fucking retarded.

>only wear your seatbelt if you are near hospitals and ambulances.
>>
>>33441124
Half of his statement holds merit. Plates are there to keep you conscious in a gunfight, without readily available treatment or extensive medical knowledge (i.e. SHTF) you're likely to die from blood loss and sepsis.

>If the other side have centerfire rifles there is no point in wearing plates
full retard
>>
>>33441579
What the fuck are you talking about? Plates are there to stop bullets and keep your vitals non soupified. They don't keep you "conscious" in any direct sense of the word. Plates are for stopping holes before they form. Once they do you're in need of med.
>>
>>33442027
Once you're hit on your vitals, you're out of the gunfight. Hits to your extremities are not immediately lethal or will render you unconscious. Hence why the only medical treatment authorized to be applied in an active firefight are TQ's. Body armor can only do so much when paired with effective field treatment and surgery, as you can still bleed out or die days later from infection.

>Plates are for stopping holes before they form
????
>>
Plates are to protect vital organs so you don't damage them. They are much harder to deal with and treat. Damage to them can also bring a lot of long term damage compared to a regular bullet wound in the arm.
>>
I don't always get my advise on armor from complete strangers but when I do it's on 4 chan.

>once you are hit in the vitals, you are out of the gunfight.

You can stop the whole paragraph there. What we have been saying is PLATES ARE USED SO THAT WHEN SOMEONE SHOOTS A FIREARM AT YOUR CENTERMASS(where you're vital organs are) THE BULLET WILL BE STOPPED, BY THE PLATE.

>plates are for stopping holes before they form
>??????

>No plates on
>someone shoots you in chest
>you now have hole in chest

>plates on
>someone shoots you in chest
>You have no hole in chest

It's really that fucking simple.
>>
>>33443169
congrats, you don't know how to read.

A retard like >>33442336 can see the benefits of plates. Whether you wear them or not, you are still susceptible to non-lethal non-vitals wounds without proper medical care following it. OP was arguing that the survivability with plates is only as good as the treatment available.

>Survivability with plates is only as good as the treatment available

Yeah, I sure hope I survive a gunshot wound to my plate.

I understand that if you get shot in the arm you can eventually die from it if you pretend like it never happened. but that really has absolutely nothing to do with wearing plates and the survivability of wearing them.

Let's try this again

>survivability with plates is only as good as the treatment available

I understand that
Plates-GSW to arm-eventual death
No plates-GSW to arm-eventual death

But that is not the purpose of plates
Plates-GSW to heart area-you survive
No plates-gsw to heart-instant death

This is the purpose of plates. AND IT CAN CHANGE SURVIVABILITY, VERY GOD DAMN MUCH.

IFAK is a coyote tactical stomp

utility pouch is a velocity systems (I should note, how fkin hard it was to find a pouch in ranger green, that was small enough for this belt. Is there a difference between an ALICE medium ruck and the "man-pack" that commo guys wear? I'm cool with my company's armorer and he gave me an off-the-books man-pack. I had a large ALICE on a frame so I put the pack on it since the large is rather unwieldy unless you're stuffing it.

Just ebay NVG mounts, youll see Norotos Dove tails, etc etc etc, older surplus ones, newer ones. Buy a surplus one for cheap. Can get them for like 20 bones. If your not mounting NVG's to them they are fine. Also as far as velcro they are just attached via the glue on the velcro strips, so yeah velcro 3m will work fine.

If you get one like in pic related just make sure you get the right one theres two different kinds, one for like mich2000, and one for PASGT. You can bend it and make it work but just buy it right the first time.

Surely this is bait, where else would you put them under those circumstances? On your back panel? Either put them on your help, get a cummerbund with molle, double stack, or don't carry another 3 mags.

This really shouldn't be hard.

gotcha, thanks pal

>>33451553
i found some flags on fleabay and i also searched up some velcro and found something for $3.00 for the generic helmet style velcro stuff (flag mount, 2 rectangles and a nvg battery pack mount for the back)

would that last or is that going to fall off in some extreme heat?

>>33451603
on the topic of body armor, is it smart to leave my ceramic level IV plates in my vest, inside my trunk in florida heat? would heat fuck them up, or for that matter, any sort of humidity or is it best to bring them inside after i get home?
>>
>>33451675
>english isn't my first language

Gross! Back to the third world with you, Mohammed.

>>33451680

Hmmm all I'm seeing is single curve swimmer for that option, unless I'm missing something.

You can do anything you'd like but Florida is a pretty shit environment to be stuck in a trunk.

Humidity probably isnt the best for it but you will probably be fine
>>33451707
Are you phone posting or something?
>>
>>33451717
Ordering a Yates CQB Cobra belt next week. Eventually will buy a LBT riggers belt to replace the BDS since it's too long to wear with a holster.
>>
>>33451754
>Are you phone posting or something?

No, I think I'm just misunderstanding you. I thought you said I should be looking for "multicurve and swimmer cut at the same time"

The one you have highlighted is Shooters Cut. The only swimmers cut shown there is single curve.
>>
>>33451754
good enough for me, they've been in the trunk for about 5 weeks now, i think i'm going to bring the vest inside when i get home from now on

don't want to risk a .308 or 7.62 going through because of some goddamn humidity
>>
>>33451792
What do you do that you plan to take 308 on the regular?
>>33451789
>The one you have highlighted is Shooters Cut. The only swimmers cut shown there is single curve.
It clearly says " 10"x12" Multi Curve Shooters cut " what part of that is confusing?
>>
>>33451337
Belt, pack, or get new cummerbunds
>>
>>33451829
high risk security in some really, really slummy nog areas

>>33451772
I was gonna ask about the length too.

Have you thought about cutting a little bit of it? Or folding it up and banding it?

It's confusing because here you said "you want multicurve and swimmers cut at the same time"
>>33451603

I said "I don't see multicurve swimmers cut on highcom" and you linked and showed a picture of multicurve shooters cut - not swimmers cut.

tl:dr - It seems like you said to look for multicurve *swimmers* cut, and linked and screencapped multicurve *shooters* cut

Cutting it will mess with the stitching. I need to take it to a tailor at a military base or something to have it professionally done.
>>
>>33451959
Would it not burn shut? Cut it and stick it to a hot skillet or something?

Hey, anyone interested in a complete set of crye multicams and a jpc? My brother just gave me all his shit.

Pants say navy custom, combat shirt and field shirt say army custom. Jpc is combat worn. I'd prefer to sell all at once, but I might be willing to split the carrier and clothing into two sales.
>>
>>33452346
Combat shirt is 34r, trousers are medium large, field top is medium regular. Carrier is a JPC 2.0, no plates
>>
>>33452376
Yeah I'm interested, throwaway email?
>>
>>33432108
They're street boots, you will want something. better for those other terrains. Buy USA made boots, investing in your feet will pay off
>>
>>33452346
Pricing on that jpc?
>>
>>33452272
Worst case scenario, a tailor fixes your mess.

Make me offers. I'll ship in the continental US.

Any better recommendations? I just heard that American NVGs are good? Maybe I should get a German?
>>
On the topic of NVG's, where can I find some surplus NOD that'll fit on a helmet? I don't want to spend thousands, are there any in the hundreds that are still effective in low-light conditions?
