Any experience with the Ruger LCP II? I'm thinking about picking one up, but the price seems almost too good to be true.

POCKET CARRY THREAD, GO
>>
>>33426669
Have it, love it. I bought it for 300 the second week it was out. I see them for 265 now. How much is the one you are looking at?
The trigger is love, and the extra thick grip helps alot. The pocket holster they give you is trash
>>
>>33426744
I've seen low as $200 on sale. Might wait until I see that again.
How many rounds have you fired through it? Any issues?

Alright guys, I've been wanting a pocket gun for a while now, and I've compiled a list of potential options. I'm going to go ahead and list them, and if you have experience with any of them, feel free to chime in and put your opinion in on it. I'm also a lefty, but I can probably manage right-handed point shooting if necessary

Here's the list:
>NAA Mini Revolver series
>Beretta 21a (both .22lr and .25)
>Beretta Jetfire
>Baby Browning (And derivatives such as Bauer and the PSP-25)
>Colt 1908
>Colt Junior
>Seecamp
>NAA Guardian .32
>American Arms PX-22
>>
>>33426744

got mine at sportsmans warehouse the first week they were out for $290. still haven't shot it yet because all my suppressors just got out of atf jail and i've been playing with those non stop.
>>
Honestly I'm thinking about picking up a similar gun, p32.
Just to have in times I wouldn't carry instead.
>>
>>33426852
$200? Get it. You won't regret it

I got the predecessor to this, the LCP Custom, for 209 and my only regret is not knowing the LCP II was about to come out
>>
I'm not experienced with pocket pistols, but I really do want one.
Was considering an LCP II, Pico, Nano, G42 or G43.
What do you recommend?
>>
>>33427388
From what I've read the LCP and G42 are your best bets for maximum small and reliability. Haven't shot either yet, though.
>>
Pocket guns are for queers. I'm glad I live where it's cold enough to always shoulder harness with a jacket. Not even memeing.
>>
>>33427048
>>NAA Mini Revolver series
I've owned one of the mini revolvers and I don't recommend them except as a novelty (although they are a really neat novelty). There really aren't any useable sights. There's a front blade, but no rear notch, so it's basically guessing. The small grip makes it impossible to hit what you're aiming at, so you really need to upgrade to a bigger style grip. Even then, it's a slow-reloading, hard to aim, really low power pistol.

>>Beretta 21a (both .22lr and .25)
>>Beretta Jetfire
My uncle has a little beretta in .22 short, although I don't remember the model. I shot it one time and the trigger seemed OK, although a little heavy. The .32 model Tomcat looks too big for a pocket gun.

>>Colt 1908
Nice trigger, really small gun, made of steel but pretty lightweight, easy to carry. The safety isn't really really that positive and it's a cocked striker design. Your gun will most likely have a 100 year old striker and 100 year old sear. It's one thing to keep it in your pocket once in a while, but I really wasn't comfortable with the safety of the device as an all day every day carry gun. Also, .25 ACP is ridiculously underpowered.

>>Baby Browning (And derivatives such as Bauer and the PSP-25)
>>Colt Junior
These should be pretty similar to the Colr 1908 in basic niche filling.

>>Seecamp
>>NAA Guardian .32
>>American Arms PX-22
Don't have any experience with these, but I'm strongly leaning toward an NAA Guardian .32 for my next gun.
>>
>>33427759
And the follow up on the Colt 1908 .25 vest pocket.... If you have to use it in self-defense, do you really want the cops taking that piece of history away from you? No, you don't. Find yourself a $200-300 dina-a-dozen production pocket pistol instead.
>>
>>33427388
The 43 is chunkier than the 42 but it helps with 9mm. The 42 actually feels pretty good to me and I normally hate Glock frames. I haven't found a II yet but the original LCP was not a pleasant pistol to fire. I wound up with a Bersa as my 380, larger than most but it can sit in most of my pockets.
>>
Any one have experience with the Sw40ve?

Im thinking about abusing.

Any thoughts anon?
>>
>>33427944
Why don't you fuck off to your own thread? This is the pocket carry thread. Can't you fucking read?
>>
>>33426669
Dude I picked up a LCP gen 1 for $185. I don't like the Gen II, yah sure the trigger is better slightly, but it's bigger and blockier, as opposed to the rounded ergonomics of the LCP I. Personally I liked the LCP gen1 much better at the price point
>>
I want the LCP but I'll settle for the lc380 since I live in Cali
>>
>>33428026
LCP II*
>>
>>33427944
It's a Smith but it has a trigger pull that is insufferable. Better off buying an MP or a Model 59 for that price point. This shouldn't be on this thread either
>>
LCPs for $199.95 and LCP IIs $279.95 at J&G

I'd like to shoot them both before I decide. I'd think that even a .380 would be a hand spanker in guns that small and light.

>>33428003
Pick of the little bitch. I really like it. Would NOT recommend for new shooters of wives because of the misleading trigger reset, the heavy double spring, the snappy recoil, and the lack of a decent sight picture. Other than that if you're a semi experienced shooter looking for a cheap pocket piece as a backup gun, or even as a main if you're too lazy to grab your CC piece, look no further. There are some capable .380 rounds out there these days

>>
>>33427048
What the fuck

literally just get a modern subcompact pistol

Youre sacrificing 100% reliability to make a fashion statement
>>
>>33427944
Your money would be better spent on a staple gun.
>>
>>33428209
>prewar Colts
>not 100% reliable

You're a fucking punk kid.
>>
>>33427727
Most of the year I carry on my belt with my jacket covering the majority of the holster. Anybody who sees the end just assumes it's a leatherman.
>>
>>33426669
Hey OP, I suggest trying out a S&W Bodyguard 380 before getting an LCP. I own both and find the Bodyguard much easier to shoot. Less flip and less palm slap too, granted they are both going to hurt after a lot of shooting. Just my $.02.
>>
>>33428242
Old guns. It might go bang every time, even when you waddle down some steps.
>>
>>33428242
They aren't. Depending on their age and wear/tear, they can be fun to shoot but absolutely iffy. I used to have a Colt 1908 .380 that I seriously regret getting rid of. It was fun as hell to shoot, but it did have issues here and there. It was made in 1922 if I recall
>>
>>33428337
The 1908 he's referring to is the .25 caliber "vest pocket," but if your gun wasn't reliable, it's probably because some previous owner fucked with it.
>>
>>33428287
How does the size difference feel?
I heard the Bodyguard .380 isn't as pocketable.
>>
>>33428242
How old are you? the only explanation is that youre going through that phase that 18-21 year olds go through where you try to use old shit to appear classy and sophisticated. In this case its using guns from a time where people still shat in buckets
>>
>>33428359
Yes, it would have to be this and only this, not having anything at all to do with it being nearly 100 years old.

>>
>>33428621
Do you still have to pry that fucking locking pin out of the slide? Only real downside to the original in my opinion besides the weird trigger reset
>>
>>33428645
I have a thick piece of plastic in my bag that I use to pick the pin out. Its nice and doesn't scratch the slide. Highly recommend painting the front post
>>
>>33428693
I have the Gen 1 I usually wrap some cloth around the flathead to pry it out, but GODDDAMN it feels cheesy when it makes that snap sound when I've disjarred it, like I broke it. Im not really worried about the sights to be honest, my Front one could be filed down slightly since it shoots a little low, but this isn't a gun I'm going to be shooting USPSA with, this is a gun that just gives me a much better advantage than my blade
>>
>>33426669
Catch is that it has a monkey takedown system.
But they are good little single stacks.
I opted for a G43. Its bigger but more comfortable to shoot.

They are like the same size. Grip shape makes the Bodyguard feel more substantial in your hand (a good thing). Trigger angle and pull is DAO and easy to fire.

I had an NBA Guardian .32, and the magazine constantly fell out when I fired it. The factory even sent me anow upgraded mag catch. That didn't fix the problem either. Despite that problem, it was still very well made. Fiocchi .32 HPs were the best. I ended up selling it to some guy for $250.

>>
>>33437201
I cant decide on the lcp vs the lcp 2

I dont like the fact that its wider, its going to be a pocket gun
>>
>>33437309
The LCP II is better in every way than the first gen. It's marginally wider, but still very small, which makes it much more shootable
>>
bought one for $260 on smga

It has to be the best pocket gun
>>
>>33428645

You're supposed to use the rim of a .380 cartridge to do that. Simple.

That being said my LCP 2 is pretty good. Definitely have to paint the sights, but other than that I like it a lot.
>>
Why does everyone hate on the Pico?
I felt one up, it wasnt THAT goofy
>>
It's actually a great gun, especially at the sub 300$ price point.

I'll still chose a P238 over it, but it's a very close second. It's phenomenal for the price and is light years better than the older model in every way.

I got a cheaper version of an LC9, the Kel-Tec PF-9. Advertised as the thinnest 9mm made, so much better than 380 ballistically. Have tried to figure out why Zimmerman only fired one round, as in did his jam or did he just chose one. Mine functions fine with good quality +p hollow points, oddly it has issues with cheap FMJ.

Cheap .380 cartridges have notoriously hard primers. If you are seeing a lot of light primer strikes, that's probably the culprit.
>>
Original LCP for $199 or LCP II for $259

At $200 it seems like the original is a screaming deal

I could probably pocket carry this in a coat or something (I'm Hickock45 big) but I've been working on my AIWB draw.

What are good times for this? I've been getting between 1.5 and 1 seconds. Do you guys bring the gun up to your sternum before pushing out with it, or do you push it out immediately? I've been trying to push out immediately but my other hand can't come and get a good grip on it by the time my other hand is ready to fire
