Good starting off point, but hear me out on this one. We go to the Saudi desert, snag the Catty, restore her, outfit her with fishing gear and coolers. We catch King Salmon in Alaska, then we chill it and fly it to high end restaurants and grocers all over the lower 48 next day. Whole Foods already does it and makes a handy profit.

For what it's worth, the Wikipedia page seems to reference it.

>As with the S.23, the Sunderland's fuselage contained two decks with six bunks on the lower one, a galley with a twin kerosene pressure stove, a yacht-style porcelain flush toilet, an anchoring winch, and a small machine shop for inflight repairs. The crew was originally intended to be seven but increased in later versions to 11 crew members or more.

You see when a pilot crashes in the ocean it's considered rude to ask him to swim to an island to be rescued.

Have any of you read 'Unbroken'? It's a fascinating read, even though it has obvious propaganda throughout. It goes into depth on the problems with the B-24, the insane maintenance issues and under-qualified crew, what emergency rafts were equipped with at different stages in the war, search & rescue problems and tactics, and crash survival rates in various bombers (surprise, the B-24/25 was one of the worst). There's plenty of torrents circling around if you don't wanna buy it, but I really do recommend it to any /k/ommando. Last forth of the book is not specifically interesting but the middle bits are chock full of information.

tl;dr: The B-24/25 were flying deathtraps in the pacific theater.

No seriously, a PBY could do high altitude bombing, close air support with MGs, long range anti-sub patrol, search and rescue, and even some anti-ship work with torpedoes.
