I mean never... not even if someone offered to buy it for 5x its value. I'm talking so sentimental that you would keep it even if you were suddenly homeless out on the street. If it became illegal to own you would hide it in storage.

Pic related for me. This silly 92FS Inox was the first gun I ever purchased. My wife and half of my noguns family learned to shoot with it. It's been the first gun fired for no less than 20 people. It's dutifully delivered thousands and thousands of rounds downrange without a single malfunction.

I'm taking it with me to my grave.

It's an unreliable piece of shit, but I don't think I'll ever be able to part with it.
It belonged to my Uncle who passed away some time ago.
He was an FFL holder and had quite the collection.
While most of the expensive guns in his collection were sold to gun shops or friends or family members after he passed away, a few of the guns that nobody was interested in were still left in one of his safes.
This was one of the guns that was still left in that safe after 15+ years and now it has a special place in my collection.

Shooting his Desert Eagle .44 was one of my first experiences with a firearm and it's what got me hooked, I wish I could have gotten to know him better.

If it came down to it, I'd disassemble both of them and hide their pieces.

As such, I would never use either of them for self-defense because I know they'd basically be confiscated as evidence and never returned.

Ayyyy, fellow Uberti Colt-Walker owner.

What loads do you use?

For standard range shooting, I use a .454" Hornady lead ball, a greased fabric patch, and ~40grns of Pyrodex, with a glob of bore butter over the ball.

If I want to have fun I'll do just shy of 60 grains.

It's one of the most impressive firearms I've ever shot, and I've fired many machine guns.

I don't know if it's because I own a more modern revolver (it's still 100 years old), but the way the hammer falls makes it feel really cheap. There's not much force behind it. One of the few gripes I have with it, the only others are:

>grips are too slick (thought about having them checkered, it's a repro, and I don't care too much about authenticity)
>caps slip off the nipples too easily, though I haven't tried too many caps
>sights are shit, but that's to be expected.

It's a fun gun, but I hold my Webley & Scott Mk.VI in higher regard.

My dad is a 5 year ffl holder with brain damage and the early onset of dementia, he constantly talks about how "you and your brother are gonna have so much shit when I croak" and "before the divorce, I dropped about 30k into the guns in case I needed to resell them to pay the settlement". He's got long term care waiting for him, says he has about 5-7 years before he won't rememebr us. Makes me sad because he wasn't the nicest guy as a kid but I'm happy we're rebuilding our relationship now. I'll never sell a firearm he's given me, I treat them as heirlooms. That's a lot of projection. You know nothing about what his research entails or what his criteria are. It would be totally excusable to sperg out over the performance and specs of a gun if its one of the only guns you're getting and fulfills a specific purpose (EDC, Duty gun, Hunting, etc), but at that point that gun SHOULD be the gun you'd never give up.

Yeah it's a nice little thing. I wish they'd make a small version in 12 cause it'd be a nice little home defense gun

um. I just want to make sure I'm not buying a lemon. If I didn't do my homework, I'd be a regretful owner of a modern marlin. also I don't buy meme guns or oddball expensive calibers. sorry if that's "sperging"

Even if Remington made one I wouldn't touch a Freedom Group gun with a ten foot pole

A very old blackpowder 28g shotgun. Still shoots and is in great shape, supposedly it originally belonged to my great great grand father who actually fought in the civil war. Has very few markings hand stamped serial and no type of manufacturing details showing company or such.

My grandfather took this P.38 from a surrendering German soldier in January 1944. He carried it on his belt in this holster for the rest of the war and gave it to me when I was old enough to own it.

My Mosin

Primarily because it was my first gun, and I will never get jack shit for it.

I would have never gotten rid of my first gun, my g23. Up until my mom lost it after she confiscated it from me. Today she slapped me in the face because I called her irresponsible for losing it. Apparently it's way worse to have a class c misdemeanor (what I got charged with when an asshole acquaintance stole a snickers candy bar and they got my license plate so I got charged with it) than losing a fucking firearm. Sorry for making it a diary post but god damn I always think about my first gun all the fucking time.

Do you think the p38 started your firearms collection especially milsurp? I love p38s I'd love one or a p1

Have you ever fallen for a gun so hard that you'll forgo safety, reason, and practicality just to make it yours? That's what happened here. There's just something really appealing about it I can't quite put my finger on, it's quirky and ridiculous and loud and I love it.

I want to believe you very badly, but I know that's a load of horse shit.

>I mean never.

I really like my WASR-10, my AR and my 92FS, but if I lose this rifle part of my soul dies. This was my first.

Maybe not all but definitely most. Every gun-grabber faggot I have come across has never laid their hands on even the most fudd gun you can think of.

The majority of the hate-speech on guns is pure fucking ignorance. Pic related, and this guy is fucking enlisted but has told me the following:

>A shotgun is a less scary option for home defense over an AR15
>.223 is shit for hunting anything
>The SKS is a better rifle for civilians than a semi-auto AK
>You can hunt anything with full-size rifle calibers and have good results

I owned a Colt King Cobra an M1911A1 prior to him giving me the P.38. It was several years before I started actively collecting. It was certainly my first milsurp, though.

I bought a P1 years later as I had retired the P.38 from regular shooting. The stock grips are decent, but these walnut grips are far nicer.

My Browning 9mm until it's time when I have kids. Family weapon that's been passed on and it had been the first time I fired a gun.

I know, but I've known people who are anti-gun even though they're knowledgeable to a reasonable degree about them. I'm not sure if this comes with a need to rebel and be contrarian to their upbringings or if this comes from a sense of elitism or what but they exist. Hell I've even had a friend tell me they would give up any and all legal gun ownership entirely for legalized weed even though they're nearly as firearms proficient as I am.
