Is bar carry not right/illegal? The main club last night though did pat downs so I had to leave it in the car, anyone else have a lock box in their car? I attached my lock box to the frame of my car so they would have a hard time trying to take it or break it open.

There are exceptions here and there. Also drinking and carrying is often frowned upon or at best a grey area.

WML or Handheld?

Handheld there are tons of non gun branded options, all depends on your needs - for me it has to be pressure activated and not toggle.

For WML there are only 2.5 brands, Surefire, Streamlight and INForce.

People have different lifestyles and needs, and you are right, 99% of the time an EDC WML is not needed - well 99% of the time an EDC isn't needed either, I think you can follow the logic...

Illumination and visual control is pretty huge not just for target identification but also for control.

3 scumbuckets confront you mid streetlight in a shady part of town, you draw your EDC and make commands - it's low light, they can't confirm you have a gun or have actually I'd them all, maybe they press their luck.

Same scenario, but now you gun is giving them 800 lumens of the full candela right to their dumbfuck faces - there's a lot of shift in control doing this - screaming stay back while sweeping them with an ultranigga beam really lays the reality out. Is this akin to "racking the slide of a shotgun"? sorta - but your gun is ready, and now they've been fed some more info on your control of the situation, and you are now at a giant advantage sight wise as 800 lumens to the eyeballs is pretty intimidating in low light - try it for yourself, just be ready for spots.

If that is your next EDC gun I cannot see a reason to NOT do a WML other than anatomical limitations - I mean clearly money isn't a factor and you are going for superiority of quality and choosing a system you feel great at manipulating.

In terms of carrying such a beast? Hmmm not my field, I think I would be OK with AIWB with a 1911 but really not something I've spent time on, outside of appendix and looking to strong side carry? Always carry a dedicated handheld, even if you got a WML. Like you said, you always use your handheld.

One reason I carry a WML on my my CC and HD pistol, is cause I have kids. If I have to carry one in a bad situation, I can draw and use that. Also besides a flashlight being bright as fuck, you can do some damage hitting some one in the head. So besides giving light, it's now a blunt force weapon.

That's a candela just over 1000 lumens, you can test and reproduce this stuff (800 lumen streamlight will rock their face about the same), you earn a lot of non-lethal control with a good light source.

Idk but I see a lot of YT bromos and kunts here who claim to do so. when your car needs fixing on a cold december morning, do they pull out the VP9+S300 combo and go scouting for the trouble with that on a public parking lot? pulling a gun on basketball americans without shooting and just blinding them with the light? that's a surefire way to get your CCW revoked and probably be prosecuted for brandishing and assault w.a.d.w. too. WML are for Leos who actively go after crimianls and are protected by a massive legal apparatus which basically lets them get away with murder - none of that applies to you. sure, for your HD gun you may want to put a WL on there ys a backup but consider the reasons given by folks why they have a WML: they want to ID the threat so they don't shoot their dog, kid, granny. so think about tha. you'll be walking around muzzling shit. and what if it is your kid? you'll be muzzling them.
