How can I learn to draw this fast?
>>
>>33423412
The security guard is lucky the robber was even slower and more unaware than he was.
>>
>>33423412
seen this before and was wondering if the guard stood any legal risk taking those last couple shots as he seems to be trying to exit?

I would think not because he still has a gun and could easily of jerked around and still shot.
>>
>>33423412
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

If you want to get good at something do that thing.

While you're watching TV or something just do some practice. Do it every day. Don't try to go fast. Try to be efficient. The more you do it the more muscle memory you build the faster you go without even trying.
>>
>>33423463
Castle Doctrine states that if they are on your property, they are a threat, even if they are facing towards the door.
>>
>>33423484
I think OP is joking because of how sloppy and lucky he was.
There was clearly no skill involved, just a late and rushed reaction.
>>
>>33423463
He was not fleeing he was making a tactical retreat for cover

Absolutely not that bad guy has already initiated deadly force against everyone in that bank. You can clearly see him firing at the guard. The guard was on the right to continue firing until the threat was incapacitated, he could have still turned and burned on the way out the door, or even retrieved a larger weapon from his vehicle to return to the scene
>>
>>33423463
who to say he wasnt gonna turn around and fire into the bank from outside?

That was decently fast, not the fastest, but there were some other serious training issues there.

>Range freeze (standing in the same spot due to training scars from only shooting from a range lane, didn't even take the obvious light cover he had or changing his elevation)
>Shooting one handed (probably forgot to bring the other hand up in the adrenaline rush)
>Magdumping wildly (instead of calmly shooting accurately, again likely due to adrenaline)

Overall he done good because he didn't get shot and the bad guy did, but he could have done far better and that comes with the right kind of training, as does drawing speed.

yes it does work that way in some states. CA for example allows castle doctrine for your entire property that is fully enclosed/controlled (a fenced yard but not an unfenced yard) and extends castle doctrines to vehicles you control and places where you are entitled to be (places of employment, a rental property like apartments, et c).

CA also has no duty to retreat and allows you to use "self defense" in the defense of others in immediate danger.

as you mentioned, some states, like CA, also have a provision that prevents you using castle doctrine as a defense to invited guests, even when they become uninvited and refuse to leave - simple trespassing is not considered immediately dangerous enough.
>>
>>33426215
Nope I'm like...nasally...

sage off topic
>>
>>33426370
Specifically PC Section 198.5 includes the home and controlled property attached to the home like an attached garage. Additionally the dude must have broken, is acting unlawfully (to your knowledge), reasonable fear of injury or death, and you didn't provoke the intruder.

it's an affirmative defense as well, and it's always assumed that someone forcing themselves into your home unlawfully while you are there does so with intent to injure you.

likewise there's no provision in the CPC for "shooting in the back" or anything. if the dude suddenly becomes threatening again and is reaching into a waistband, you're 100% good to shoot him in the back for his dumbass move.

likewise CA allows castle doctrine outside the home too and if you need to interceded on behalf of someone else (Good Samaritan protection).

where it's more likely you get in trouble is for things like simple trespass vs felony trespass and enclosed or unenclosed yards.
>>
>>33426259
Funny thing is I have some good strength to weight ratio but stick-mode body makes me a joke lol.

Oh well, I'm chasing the numbers in shooting not the physique, if I continue to get stronger, mitigate more recoil with faster follow up shots and look the same...fuck it.

>>
>>33426466
>>33426370
CALCRIM 506

"A defendant is not required to retreat. He or she is entitled to stand his or her ground and defend himself or herself and, if reasonably necessary, to pursue an assailant until the danger of (death/bodily injury/ <insert forcible and atrocious crime>) has passed. This is so even if safety could have been achieved by retreating."

it's very weird, but CA self defense laws and state constitution are pretty good.

>Grrr I love your enthusiasm but I've gone so far as eating 10 doughnuts every morning and mac & cheese for lunch and dinner and gained NOTHING, it also hurt like crazy (my belly) for the whole month - working out the whole time too.
First, I guarantee you're exaggerating.
Second, if you are serious about gaining weight you need to eat more IN ADDITION to what you already eat every day for a few weeks. This is why crap like GOMAD is so popular/effective.
Third, if you want to gain weight that isn't just fat you need to lift hard.
>>
>>33428188
I walked in to work with a dozen DD doughnuts for a month straight and ate 10 solid - no joke, the sugar made me sick and crazy for like 2 hours those mornings for a month.

I concede my work out was based of 15 lb weights, but seriously, the whole process was unsustainable.

I wish /k/ would care more about a sub 2.5 second 21 foot bill drill than the width of my arms, but reality is facile aint it.

Kind of you m8 and mosdef tons of room to imrove, WebM related, you will note all 6 pieces of .45ACP brass are in the air at the same time.

Things I need to do: Shave a bit off the draw and reload by reducing excessive waste movement, increase grip strength for more fight against the recoil and the hardest one that I'm stuck ion - increase the speed that I can move my trigger finger at.

that's actually not what castle doctrine is at all.

basically, castle doctrine does 2 things:

>removes duty to retreat
>puts burden of proof for establishing murder on the prosecution.

if the prosecution can affirmatively prove that you're not in fear of your life, then it's still murder. the only differences is who has the burden of proof -- in public self defense, you have to prove that you didn't commit murder and you're assumed a murderer until you prove that point; in castle cases, the prosecutor has to prove that you did commit murder, and its assumed to be valid self defense until he proves that point.

you're the kind of idiot who gets arrested for executing burglars.

Sure. Until one day your shirt flutters, someone spots your cc and decides that you are a threat and a potential robber. And the guy doesn't like you or your kind anyway. You are shot down on the spot, there is no camera but hey, who needs one since there's not going to be a trial anyway.

Not that I am against armed shop/bank/home robbers being shot dead while robbing. But if you want a world without criminal trials, why aren't you living in some fourth world shithole?
>>
>>33426032
That's not true. Especially on striker fire guns you can damage the breech face with excessive dry firing.
>>

Right, as gunning down someone with a holstered weapon is exactly as justified as doing the same to someone who is pointing it at you or someone else. You're aware of how much case law there is on this subject, right? How well-defined the conditions are for justifiable use of lethal force?

Also my shirts don't flutter. Tuck your shit in.

>But if you want a world without criminal trials, why aren't you living in some fourth world shithole?

My lack of giving a shit about trials is reserved for people who brandish deadly weapons in the process of committing a crime. We aren't talking about Judge Dredd here. I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that when someone in a ski mask walks into a bank, convenience store, etc. and starts pointing guns at people that the world is better served when a lawful citizen or officer defends themselves or others with deadly force than if they allow (or worse yet, are forced to allow) that person to have the run of the place.

>IF this is supposed to be a 1v1 sim

It's the F.A.S.T. (Fundamentals, Accuracy & Speed Test) it's like a benchmark to track your shooting progression, it's not a drill (The designer of it really emphasized that). It's supposed to be shot "cold" as in you do it 3 times in a row as the first thing at the range.

The first two rounds go to a 3"x5" ocular cavity then after the slidelock reload the next 4 go into a *' circle that represents the thoracic cavity. It's extremely punishing, missing the head adds 2 seconds per miss and missing the thoracic add 1 second per miss.

Under 5 seconds is "Expert"
Under 7 seconds is "Advanced"
Under 10 seconds is "Intermediate"

Anything above is Novice/Beginner

what legal risks? a guy waving a gun around in a shop that I'm in is a threat to my life. Any state that permits concealed carry at the very least lets you defend your life if there's an imminent risk.

Have a listen to that little asian vietnam vet on youtube nostressmike or something about his concealed carry use. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eg5Gaza6OOw

admittedly in this example he waited until the pistol was turning towards him before he shot, but the point is despite the fact he was just a bystander the armed robber eventually turned his pistol on him. You sound like you can't legally shoot someone unless there's a fucking bullet steaming towards you. Be realistic ffs.
