I'm trying to help my GF put together a cheap Colt SMG clone for home defense, and I'm struggling to find a decent muzzle device to pin and weld to a 10.5-11in barrel so she won't need a cuck stamp for the thing. Any recommendations? The options for 1/2-36 threads seem to be limited. Pic somewhat related.

If you haven't bought the barrel yet, just buy a longer barrel you jackass.
If you have bought the barrel, you are probably stuck with a fake can. Longest muzzle devices that come to mind are Griffin Armament XM177 and other various other "moderator" clones/knockoffs. However they are almost assuredly for .223, using 1/2x/28 threads at that.
Or just use a pistol tube
>hurr durr
Don't be completely infantile.

Haven't bought anything yet. Just want to build the thing as light as possible and figured that using a short barrel with a pinned flashcan would be the way to go. I want her to be able to shoulder the fucking thing at an indoor range without triggering autistic screeching.

You will need a 13.7(?) barrel for a KX3/KX5
If you can find a moderator clone for 9x19, you will need 12 3/4
14.5 and the world is your oyster
A pistol tube and the world is your oyster
Protip just use """cheekweld""" if you care that much about what everyone thinks at the range

It's not for me though, and I think it would be better for her just to learn proper shooting technique to begin with. Will start looking for a 13.5in barrel.
Just buy a 16" barrel, dipshit. It's going to be the same length regardless.
If' you're really keen on the short barrel, then build a pistol and sling it Euro-style.

>Just want to build the thing as light as possible
Why, because she's going to be carrying it everywhere?

You're right. She can always get it cut down later if they ever get around to unfucking the NFA or she gets a stamp.

>sling it Euro-style.
Except half of europe currently has no SBR laws and as such we can get actual folding stocks for our short carbines?
All this pistol brace & pistol sling bullshit originates primarily for the need to bypass US law (and for PSD use).

Sure, but the sling method was popularized by the SAS with the MP5K.

It's not remotely a beginner technique though.
