Why do so many people hate the look of a Hi Point?
>>
If you have to ask I would hate to see how fucking ugly you are.
>>
>>33416087
because its a brick with a handle.

a functional brick, but a brick nonetheless.
>>
>>33416087
Because people have to be told what to think anymore. Independent thought is a rare thing.

From a drawfag's perspective, the body lines don't really lend to aesthetic appeal. It's boxy for the most part, but unlike a glock it has curves in the wrong places.

But I think what throws it off most for me is the way the grip is so far forward.
>>
>>33416087
I don't think I've seen an ugly gun beyond those neutered Ar-15's from restrictive states.

>>33416087
It's the slide that ruins the looks. It's way too fat, making the gun look a bit goofy. I just crudely cut it up in paint to show what I mean.
>>
>>33416087
The grip needs to be thicker in the rear
>>
>>33416163
Starting to remind me of an HK p7
>>
Who designed the hi points we know and love today? Was it a team? I guess any harbor in a storm, but how could you move from hi point to a more reputable company? What skills would you learn at hi point which other companies would want you for?
>>
>>33416087
It is functional, not aesthetic. It is like someone made a reliable, functional design but was extremely limited by the financial side of development so they took the design and shoved it in a box.
>>
>>33416211
>more reputable company
hi points are reputable. they have a reputation for being cheap, heavy, and ugly with excellent warranties
>>
>>33416179
Yeah, if they would just bring the grip back a bit and make it just a hair shorter, it could look great.
>>
>>33416222
The best warranties, you can do just about anything to a hi-point, call and have your issue resolved.
>>
>>33416256
i'd say the only downside is when you're paying 25% of the cost of the gun to ship it to get serviced, due to it being so fucking cheap to begin with
>>
>>33416087
>Why do so many people hate the look of a Hi Point?

It's as fucking ugly as a Gluck.
>>
>>33416087

Uhhh...that's a glock 40.
>>
>>33416138

So what's the difference between that Glock and a Hi-Point?

>>
>>33416343
the hi-point is reasonably priced in addition to being a fuck-ugly gat, whereas the glock is just the latter

>>
>>33416343
A glock is squared, but discrete in doing it. Kind of like comparing a refined block of wood to a brick. They are both kind of square, but one is bigger and certainly isn't the other. The glock has cuts made in it for grip, compared to the rough looking serrations on the C-9. A glock has a grip to it that is uniform with the entire lower assembly of the gun with a discrete slide placed on top of it. The C-9 is an odd rounded edge block thing with an handle and trigger that looks like it was rather malformed in an attempt at ergonomics while the glock has a squarish grip but is far more ergonomic while not trying. '

There are a fuckton of differences that separate it from the glock. The only similarity is a squared look to it, but even then the C-9 looks like someone took a file to a brick to make rounded edges.

Plastic shit, rough edges, no ergos, heavy as a fucking brick for no real reason other than shitty materials.

And before any of you cheeky cunts go "B-B-But Glock is plastic", the Hi-Point line actually FEELS like plastic. They can call it polymer, but I can call my dick a third leg, that doesn't make it true.
>>
>>33417608

>but what about that ridiculous looking trigger
>>
>>33417610

You forgot virtually indestructible with a non-owner specific lifetime warranty.
>>

>>
>>33417746
>assumes blacks will buy a gun
>>
>>33417746
I wish they were like $20 more expensive but came with actually reliable and consistent magazines.

That's the biggest difference between Glock and Hi Point, Glock mags are rock solid and pretty much don't fail whereas Hi Point mags fail like half the time (and if yours in particular don't then you got lucky)
>>
>>33416163
wouldnt work, hi points are straight blowback, hence why the slides are so big and heavy, no locking system. slim it down and the design becomes unsafe
>>
>>33418828
blowback not strong enough for 9mm Luger? but H&K did it with the VP70...
>>
I can shoot MOA at 25 yds with a high point, I keep mine lubed up and use it only as a range toy but hey, 90% of the guns on the market today will outshoot their owners. It is not a good CCW but for that matter neither is a Desert Eagle. I'll take a hipoint and a half empty mag over being unarmed. FYI I carry a Colt SAA 1873 in .357, But I carried a M9 for 11 years when I was in.
>>
>>33418907
>range toy
jesus, well to each his own i guess
>>
>>33418828
isn't it that big because the slide is a cast zinc(?) part?
a good steel slide could be that small and still be blowback.
>>
>>33419061

Quality.

Plus, they're just a gun to get if you're a poor nig no-gunz.
>>
>>33417456
The Hi-Point has a similar appeal to ex-Soviet equipment to me; it's clear aesthetic was not considered, it was only supposed to be a functional tool. In that it was just designed to solve problems, it is beautiful in a simplistic way.
>>
>>33419482
I like how soviet equipment looks too, not Hi-points though. I guess utilitarian stamped metal is just better looking than its polymer equivalent.
>>
I might buy one and just leave it sitting in my closet with a Walmart Mossberg and 10/22 or something.

I can then hide my other guns so if someone breaks into my house they'll find and take the cheap ones instead of searching around for the expensive ones.
>>
>>33418828
Not unsafe, per se, but to make it operate correctly and safely you'd need such a strong recoil spring that it'd be nigh-impossible to rack the slide without a table vice. (Okay I'm exaggerating but you get the point)
>>33418890
The VP70's slide was schoolbus-tier fuckhuge too. The above picture is a lot smaller.
>>33419061
Steel is only 10% more dense than zinc.

I don't undertand why they had to make it as ugly and unergonomic as possible, as well as why it's single stack despite being such a large gun. Low costs aren't an excuse.
