What is decent, reliable semi-automatic rifle for under $600?

Can't go wrong with a basic AR.

I have an original M&P Sport that has several thousand rounds through it without any problems. You can also build an AR.

My M&P Sport 2 was my first AR

Then I started playing a game of gun legos. $100 here, $75 there, and now my gun can be whatever I need it to be. I need it to have a 50 round magazine and bipod and pretend its a semi-auto LMG, I can. If I want to slap on a rifle scope and bipod and pretend its a DMR, I can. If I just wanna make it look like an old school vietnam M-16, I can.

Though at this point I've replaced so much of the original gun that barely anything remains.

Honestly, well is this a prepper standpoint, survival, or what.

I mean if you go with the 5.56 you're not advised to shoot at anything larger than a person or even a kevlared out person.

But, if you get a bigger caliber you're going to be restricted to hunting rifles (which are long) or the 7.62 which is pretty much just a fags bullet.

Theres not really anything wrong with either bullet. the 5.56 has a little more range but, the 7.62 is better against armor.

the website grabagun always has ar15s on sale in there clearance.

So are you looking for a carbine style or like hunting or combination of both.
