Would grease be better for your slide rails than regular clp?

The rule is: If it slides it gets grease, if it rotates it gets oil.
I use this grease:

Im currently using froglube but I'm just curious if its just a meme.

You mean Fireclean?
>>33414763
its a meme its not even made from real frogs

I thought you were supposed to use it to lubricate frogs.

Meh, i like the idea of grease on paper, but on some firearms it seems to result in malfunctions. my sr1911 runs fine with oil only, but occasionally with greased rails the slide doesnt go all they way into battery when dropped on a fresh mag. not to mention its properties are pretty temp dependant. YMMV

You're supposed to lube your frogs? Fuck no wonder mine get all creaky when they get wet.

I've used a little bit of everything, I find that a light coat of grease on rails usually leads to a smoother action and it stays put, I use oil on springs, pins, and guide rods.
Slip 2000 is the best in my opinion.

Some weapons function better with or require grease though not all of them. Honestly though it's up to the operator to decide what their weapon needs.
I use transmission fluid

adventurous place to keep the epoxy.

just like you, OP

I use green bearing grease on rails and CLP on other parts.

I like you.
I have been using froglube for ~2 years now.
I have guns that got lubed up with it and more or less sat untouched in the safe for a year+. Don't really detect any rancidity as early reports claimed. However, I may be using new formula?
My Glock 17, LCP, and AR that are all frequent use/edc get a light coat from time to time. My AR, other than occasional wipe down/disassembly of BCG hasn't been cleaned through 1300 rounds or so. Still running fine.
LCP is rusting, other guns with other surface finishes are not. However, given its frequency of carry especially when sweating my balls off I attribute this moreso to shit finish than a failure of Froglube as surface protectant.
I have been happy with it.
Only thing really yet to test is cold weather performance. However, living in Western Washington not sure how applicable it is to me, I have done my best to get over to the east side of state for some winter shooting, or mountains when it's cold here... no real issues to speak of. But also never used in sub-25 degree weather.

Whoops, how did that get there?

Supposedly if you let it sit for a while mold will start to grow. Also there is this https://www.instagram.com/p/BNVs5TehUPO/
Any metal on metal movement should be greased.
