Why aren't wire stocks more popular?

Shoot one and find out.

Because they are awful.
Perhaps if you'd used one outside of childrens video games you would know.
As a noguns faggot, I'm quite the expert in the subject.
Firstly, you would not be able to maintain a correct cheekweld.
Secondly, they are not as secure or sturdy as a solid stock.
Thirdly, the lack of weight would contribute to a greater felt recoil.
Fourthly, the wire frame would be less comfortable to shoulder.

good question OP
1. They're flimsy
2. No cheekweld
3. Only useful for keeping a fully automatic weapon stable; really useless on a semi auto
4. Mostly used on subguns, a majority of which are considered SBRs in the US
5. US market is saturated with AR15 pattern rifles
Pic related, my vz61 SBR which has a shit wire stock

Have you used them? they feel like ass.
They're an ok compromise on pistols, but I'd never want one shitting up a rifle.
I don't understand why most wire stock designs don't come with a buttplate of any sort, even if its just a sheet of metal. You'd think it be a worthwhile, extremely low cost for the extra comfort.

You're suppossed to put the end of the wire stock on your cheek with the vz61. You don't shoulder it like a normal stock.

>wire stock helps bring the scifi tech level down
I've been looking for a cheap .22 bolt action to do this to.

German paratroopers had a saying that you are a bitch if you can't take the 7.62 NATO with the G3A4's sliding stock.
It's not wire but pretty bad. It's workable but once you get used to it and think hey this is pretty good, you try the G3A3 full stock and it feels like it's a pillow melting to your face.
Full stock > adjusting stock erry tiem if you are not a vehicle crew member or some hispeed unique snowflake.
