It was a pleasant surprise.

It makes sense that since they were going to have to replace their aging collection of AUGs at some point, they would move to a different platform while they were at it.

They have my support, LMT makes damn fine rifles.

Interesting, in 2011 they adopted a 7.62x51mm rifle as DMR (the same as the L129A1 the British Army use), so the fact that they are now getting their main 5.56x45mm service rifle from LMT suggests they had a good experience with them.

The company throughout it's history has never had to compete with an industry peer in the Australian domestic market under conditions similar to the U.S domestic market.

How feasible is it for an army to issue lefty guns? I've shot ar15 left handed for fun and it sucks. Ambidextrousity in general sucks ass.

Since no major defects have shown up with it since it went into service, it's unlikely to be replaced before the mid to late 2020s.
