You have 5 minutes to explain why CZs are the best firearms ever
>>
>>33407118
Because they are Czech, and Czech is good.
>>
>>33407178
Agreed
>>
>>33407118
I don't think they're the best.

I do however think they generally make average to decent long guns, and make pretty good pistols.
>>
>>33407688
Well with the exception of the CZ52, Jesus fucking Christ someone had too much absinthe when drawing up that design.
>>
>>33407118
Trash pistol front sight posts on everything, glock tier but metal and even riding on thinner substrate.

2 of 3 of my old CZs had FSP issues over the years, the one that didn't? the Dove tailed RAMI - yeah CZ fixed it on the other 2 but lost all trust in their "reliability"
>>
>best
short stroke piston lads
maybe not the best but close
>>
>>33407702
this roller pistol or the Not SKS?

I have both. the pistol is a decent shooter once you replace the pin and rollers. The rifle has non existent ammo. Though I like gas/action on it.
>>
CZs are a good value, that's all. Just like Glocks and AR15s.
>>
>>33407768
The pistol.

>made for 9mm Luger but kind of hurriedly converted to 7.62mm because Warsaw Pact
>not really a good and strong conversion, known to explode from Bulgarian subgun ammo
>bore is actually not .311 but .308, so other combloc ammo besides Czech will be a poor idea to shoot
>because of weak locking and smaller bore, most commercial ammo is specced only for the Vz and will not give you as good groupings in a TT33, nor will it be as hot as it could be, because people are afraid of liability suits
>firing pin inexplicably made of cast iron

I like the grips, DA trigger and overall looks though, but it's by far the worst Czech pistol.
>>
>>33407768
Some of the Vz52 rifles were actually converted to 7.62x39mm
>>
>>33407922
>czech'd
picture this, a modernized vz 52
>double stacked 5.7mm
>button mag release
>trigger bar moved to the other side
>safety selector removed for SIG-type sweep decocker
>grip angle swept back to a proper CZ75 angle
>take some of the hump out of where the safety used to be for a nice little beaver tail

Actually, they weren't converted, the design was modified. That's the VZ52/57

well i am not 100% sure what I am going to do yet.. but all that paint can be removed so it was just experimental atm...

Yeah I dont have any real issue with your rifle, canadabro since youve made no damaging mods to it, I just think ar15 stocks look out of place on anything but an ar and fuck-ugly on anything that used to have wood or bakelite on it

Did you have the beaverbarf stock or folder originally? or is that actually the vz2008?

>captcha knows where you are lol

What are some of the advantages/disadvantages the vz58 has verses an ak pattern?
>>
>>33408513
it doesnt take ak furn
>>
>>33408497
Its the VZ 58 sporter so it came like that... minus the hand guards I put those on afterwards. I dont care for that buffer and stock as its commercial spec

You can shoot .311 bullets meant for a .310 bore through a .308 bore meant for .309 bullets all day every day. In fact, most older US-made 7.62x39 barrels were .308 bore.
You can also shoot .309 bullets meant for a .308 bore in a .310 bore meant for a .311 bullet without a significant loss of velocity or precision.
Remember that these are just the diameter between grooves. The diameter between lands is still .300" (7.62mm), which provides plenty enough stabilization. Fun Fact: 7.5 French projectiles were designed to be smaller than the groove diameter.

7.62 Tokarev too did this: 7.90 projectile, 7.92 groove, 7.62 land
Using a 7.845 projectile in a barrel meant for undersized 7.90 projectiles isn't really that big of a deal. 75% rifling engagement versus 93%.

at least it's aesthetically-pleasing.

also, Czech'd.
>>
>>33408642
IIRC warsaw pact/7.62x39 ammo was all .312 though, thats like shooting 8mm mauser through a 30-06 barrel

>>33408637
gotcha, do you know if you can switch out the rear trunnion for a traditional one? I've never bothered to look into the sporters or 2008's

out of everything I despise, the naming designations and measurement conventions surrounding projectiles and rifling irritate the shit out of me so much, it's interesting and all, but what the fuck

Their handguns tend to be amazing.
Their Rifles tend to be revolutionary.

They do however tend to not INVENT concepts but rather IMPROVE them heavily and then someone else comes along and adds that last little cherry on top (or, in the case of the ZH-29, do the same thing and while it's more expensive, bring it at a better time)

They also tend to have that one flaw that just bothers the fuck out of everyone that uses them.
The CZ-82 has that FUCKING safety that means only cocked and locked.
The VZ-52 has those gosh darn proprietary mags.
The CZ-75 has amazing triggers and Ergos but tends to have a shitty finish (or be more expensive than other guns that do the same thing)
The VZ-56 is amAzing but has that damn proprietary FUCK YOU to the commies cartridge. A good reason to have a proprietary cartridge but seriously a pain in the ass later down the road.
The old CZ Mausers...well, I really can't find anything wrong with them except the 90 degree bolt throw.
But that's a Mauser thing not a CZ thing.

Anyways, they're good, but not the best.

>VZ-52

>VZ-56
did you mean vz52 rifle?
I think i'm agreeing with you, but youre kind of all over the place with your designations, I would argue though their rifles tend to be amazing and handguns revolutionary, considering all the '75 clones that are out there

anyway, the czechs invented the vz52 rifle's gas system which is fucking neato and so is the bolt carrier group and extractor
and I could be wrong (probably am) but didnt the vz58 pioneer striker-fired select-fire rifles?

czechnology is fucking perfect imo, ingenious, simple, designs with a lack of regard for fine tuning that the end user could very easily finish is desired

You really shouldn't, that stuff is known to bust the CZs rollers.

The Bulgarians were in the Warsaw Pact, but weren't a Soviet state, so they did their own thing with 7.62mm Tok. They looked it and thought "Pistol? No. Subgun? Yes, load it hot, like Tabasco, easy to control and longer range!"
(and I think they had the right idea for the cartridge there).

It's loaded a lot hotter than what the CZ is meant to handle, check your headspacing and rollers.
>>
>>33407118
CZ 75 - Aesthetic, great ergos, good pricepoint
VZ58 - all the benefits of an AK with stripper clip compatibility and better production quality
CZ Bolt actions - good looking bolt actions for a competitive price.
>>all of the above are accurate and reliable

Other reasons to love CZ

Czech Republic is one of the most firearms friendly nations in Europe

Their women are hot AF.

>very comfortable rifle overall
>having a BHO in the first place to let you know you are empty
>stripper clip speed-loading, I consider it a lot easier to carry a few strippers in my pocket or pouch than a 30rd mag

>didnt the vz58 pioneer striker-fired select-fire rifles?
no. it's basically a g41/MKb. 42 piston/bolt running an FG 42's striker mechanism.

I suspect the FG-42 is the first full auto capable gun with a striker that was actually issued in any meaningful amount.

Czechs have never truly developed anything really revolutionary on their own. most of their stuff is just refined evolutions of prior designs.
>>
>>33409498
I apologize, number designations on things like Glocks and Czech weaponry tend to become confusing to me.

You are correct.

However my reasoning behind their rifles as revolutionary vs their handguns not being revolutionary is because the CZ was never actually THE gun to come up with anything but rather an excellent armament that simply took the best aspects of a number of pistols and combined them into one (the Walther P38 DA (yeah not the same but a DA/SA nonetheless) and a double stack 9mm magazine (the Hi Power))

Their SMGs are also very much revolutionary (they kinda pioneered the whole "mag in the grip" thing as well as telescoping bolts)

And again, I'm shit with numbers.
>>
>>33408306
It pleases me that this meme lives on.
>>
>>33407922
I am pretty sure that was a typo because that gun is SA only.

It's fun when you realize it has a decocker because the firing pin design is so backwards it literally will break by dry firing.
