well war is boring as fuck to sing about, theyre gonna embellish it for the music. amon amarth has a good handful of songs about generalized raiding and pillaging but there were very few realistic accounts of vikings being anything but massive pieces of shit, so they go with the fantasy and mythology

Eluveitie has some "muh free gaul, muh roman opression, muh civilized barbarism" themes in their music

Ex-Deo (kataclysm meme project) is the roman empires half of this with equally embellished tales of roman superiority with a few songs about specific battles in there

if you want a metal band reciting historical accounts of battles with no spin to it idk what to tell you, sabaton sure as hell isnt that, or a very good band musically.
