The entire world would be opposed to us, not just because we're massive dicks but because we'd literally have shown that when confronted with conventional war, we go straight to atrocity to win. I don't know, depends what you consider good. I think using them would have set a precedent that they aren't really weapons of "last resort" and we would have had a lot of destructive conflicts throughout the 20th century.

At the time, the USSR didn't have the capacity to nuke the US but they could probably fuck up West Germany if they wanted to. That said the Russians only had a few nukes and I think we only had a few hundred (mostly the Little Boy types).

Yeah I don't know it probably was good that we didn't nuke them. After WWII a lot of the world viewed us kinda like heroes, we helped Europe and were defending the West from communism. If we started going around and abusing the power vacuum that France, Germany, and Britain left behind by nuking the ever loving shit out of everyone that public image would quickly change.
