yeah use smaller rocks or sedimentary rocks, you can compact sedimentary rocks together to reinforce the sling. It'll also keep forensics from being able to figure out how long ago you fixed it.

1 the lower weight means you can throw them farther. A heavy rock will be pulled down by gravity sooner
2 the lower weight means you can carry more of them. Having a bigger rock doesn't mean shit when you run out of them and the other guy still has plenty.
3 they can go faster with less propellant. simple physics. It takes more energy to propel a heavier object

Alp tribe make great rock. Black rock knapped by alp tribe saved many hunts for my family when regular white flint rock would have not. With Grock brand rock, arrow placement on animal far less important. Goes through ribs every time. Most of the time, after a good kill, Grock tips and arrows still useable. Alps tribe make Grock for arrow, atlatl and bear spear. Grock trade over Hauslabjoch pass is important. Will go again coming spring with copper to trade for Grock.
